What happened to TE being a priority?

dude,no offense but go look at the 2018 stats for Swaim, Jarwin and Schulz

http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/2991767/blake-jarwin

they just did get enough targets ... they caught 70%+of targets ... but only 4 TDs on the season

the fact Scott Linehan was a fool is no reason to draft another TE, just reason to fire Scott

Well Swaim is gone. Maybe it will be a Linehan issue, but aside from the NYG Game where Jarwin looked like Tony Gonzalez, they didn't do much.

What kind of production should we be looking at from the position? Rather have 3rd and 4th WRs on the field, RBs who can take it from anywhere. Instead of 120 targets going to the slowest position on offense. Would I like a player like Gronkowski or Kelce? Sure, but right now we have Zeke, Gallup, Cooper hopefully a new weapon at RB to catch some passes plus Austin and Randall Cobb. All should see plenty of targets. This offense will be fine.

Because you spent a 4th rd pick on one you should not look to improve the position??. A first and maybe a 2nd sure, not a 4.

Again, what round were you hoping to grab a TE? We didn't have a first, you want to spend another second rounder on a TE? Spend another 4th rounder? Sixth? Seventh?

I don't think any TE we picked up outside the first three rounds would have been much better prospect than Dalton. Again, let him develop - we already have 3 other TEs on the roster outside of him.

I guess having a 72 year old Witten un-retiring filled that need? They didn't even bring in an UDFA TE. Oh yeah and the baseball player...guess we are good there...

I think some people clearly overestimated the "need at TE".

Between Zeke, Cooper, Cobb, Gallop, Witten, Jarwin, Austin , Pollard and Weber. How many touches are left. The coaching staff already has issues spreading the wealth.

That's a bunch of names, and 2 of them are great. One has potential and the rest are just guys to this point. But I agree, about the coaches being unable to use multiple options to this point.

RD 3, Rd 4, Free Agency..trade.. there are many options. But you may be right about where they had they ranked, compared to what they have.

I just think you are a clown

It would be nice if they could upgrade more than one spot at a time.

O line got an upgrade with Frederick being a question mark. DT got an upgrade. We've had a HOF TE for 15 years, but still needed more. They have more now. This is a stout offense with some quality weapons. Witten being back brought them a year to see what these younger guys have and what they will have to do about the position in 2020.

Once the TE from Texas A&M went off the board to Minnesota that probably ended the Cowboys wanting a TE.
The 2nd was way too high for another TE.

Dawson Knox was one of the last decent ones still on the board when they took McGovern. Others later on like Foster Moreau, Kaden Smith and Zach Gentry aren't much any better from Schultz IMO.

I am comfortable with McGovern in this case.

Just a smokescreen a lot of fans fell for. Why would they tell people what position they are looking at in the draft?

Yep
It's not like everyone knew they were going to draft Hill in rd 2

Why people continue to think that this franchise creates clever deliberate ruses to disguise their draft plans is beyond me.
