What happened to TO's run after the catch ability

I agree with the OP and do not think a busted coverage slant play is the same thing as what TO used to be able to do.

He never has done it here, he goes down a lot easier than I ever remember him doing in another uniform.

Maybe we don't try it as much or something.

An astute observation...

Father time catches up with everyone. He is soon to be 35 but can outrun almost the entire team. If is thrown more CATCHABLE balls he might have a chance to do something. And it seems that EVERYTIME TO is in motion running across the field and he is THROWN TO.. its always anywhere but in stride..

TO is not the problem... Its Romo's lack of a pocket presence, Garretts pathetic play calling and Wades lack of intensity to what will doom our team...

He broke a long run in wide open space ... just like Patrick Crayton did on Sunday. Does that mean Patrick Crayton is great running after the catch? I'm talking about a play where he swatted away a defensive back like an annoying gnat, like he used to do routinely in his prime. That's what used to make him special. The first defender brings him down every time these days.

In all fairness, Crayton was wide open and had a blocker. TO was double covered and dusted both defenders.

Anyway, what you're talking about is breaking tackles, not merely RAC. Don't act surprised when folks think you're nuts.

our offence has not put TO in the positon to utilize his talents. Hopefully, Red will be able to do this with Romo out

TO isn't busting long gains after the catch because he's hardly asked to run routes that afford him that opportunity

he was in the WCO in San Fran and Philly where he was asked to run slants, so when he caught the ball, he either blew by the defender, or stopped, changed direction, making the defender grasp his jersey, and he would just pull away, because he had forward momentum and space working for him

he's in a different offense in Dallas where he's asked to run routes, w/ a corner hanging off him, and a safety waiting for him a few yards down the field

so simply put this offense doesn't allow him to catch the ball and run

I've seen TO beat the jam at the line alot this year, but ROmo can't look to him most of those situations because a safety is sitting right at the top, cutting off the area along w/ the corner

he's also in a WCO, where he can run shorter routes, and get to full-speed by the time the corner is coming up to tackle him

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. T.O. has never been a physical runner after the catch. He did used to be much better as a RAC guy, yes, but his "bread and butter" has always been making things happen on the deep ball. People remember the 1 play a year that he'd break for a long touchdown off a short reception and it stands out to them, but that was a rarity for him when you look at his overall production.
