1. His best stats weren't from his first year
2. Team record has nothing to do with an individuals best season. Dak was incrementally better in 2019 than he was in 2016, the team was worse around him. Reminder that using team record when discussing individual performance is incredibly misguided.
3. "Second best finish"? Are you talking team success again? And one that doesn't even paint it as his best year?
2 of your 3 points were based off team W/L, and the other wasn't correct? Woof
1. His highest passer rating was in his first year. His highest QBR rating was in his first year.
2. Team record is a big part of quarterback analysis. His 2019 passer rating and qbr were worse than 2016.
3. Yes. The ultimate goal is to win games. Wins and losses is not the only way to measure a quarterback's success. But it correlates well. And it's the one that matters most.
4. Both the Cowboys record and his statistics against good teams peaked in his first year and have been really bad since then. Which I neglected to mention in my first post. He cleans up against bad teams (which is fine) and doesn't play well and loses against good ones.
5. I just looked at Dak's stats for this post. Actually, they're not as good as I thought. Currently, there are 10 quarterbacks in the league with a passer rating over 100. Dak has done that one time in 5 years (in his first season). Are we really going to pay $40 million to a quarterback who can't crack 100?
