Many fans and Pundits are taking the Cowboys being the 2 seed as a given.
I'm fairly confident they will win but what if they were to lose?
It would be the most cataclysmic moment for this franchise in recent history.
I can't imagine how irate the fanbase would be and if you thought the Cowboy haters in sports media were insufferable before, multiply that by a Billion!
McCarthy would have to be fired, Dak's reputation would suffer immensely and the franchise would be a laughing stock.
Not sure it’s that big of deal. First I’d all Egirls are expected to rest many of their stars especially those nursing injuries .

And heading to Tampa actually is probably a better matchup for us than possibly the Rams which have been playing at a higher level in recent weeks .

I’m not seven sure I’d rather play the Packers than the Bucs . The advantage comes in Div round for Id much rather be at home against any remaining opponent plus as 2 seed we wouldn’t have to play SF until Champ game.

His team went 12-5 and won a playoff game, an improvement from the prior 12-5 season. MM has never been on any "hot seat" in Dallas.
He was definitely on the hot seat after the one and done at home to SF in the 2021 playoffs. Had the team not improved on that season the following season with a playoff win and missed the playoffs he would have been gone. His job will definitely be on the line if the Cowboys choke at Washington on Sunday and go one and done in the playoffs. I doubt many would want him back if that scenario happens.

I'm not sure that all falls on coaches. 1st off...Dak is the claimed de facto leader. Part of being a leader is to inspire your team.

Also...these guys are pros. They know what it takes and how to do it.

Granted....there could be some fault in scheme or game plan. But I don't think that's any more powerful than players not executing. Or "feeling off".
How do you inspire the defense being a quarterback? I can see inspiring the offensive side, I would think the defense is on Parsons D law

I wonder what washington fans prefer. a new QB or defeat dallas?
30 years ago...defeat Dallas.

In the modern era, where The Draft is attended by hundreds of thousands of people (when it used to be a few dozen smoking old dudes and Mel Kiper) fans would be mad if they BEAT Dallas, much less wanting to beat us.

It would be negative if I said they would lose

I said they would win. The repercussions for the result of the game isn’t a positive or negative. It is what it is
Yeah and your interpretation is negative.

How can one person be wrong so often. It's baffling!

I've been a true fan for longer than you have been alive.

You would never have survived. Couldn't bully people on the internet in 1972. That's the gist of your fandom.

Dak is the leader of the team. I been told I over and over.
If you have ever watched micd up on the sidelines you'd know exactly how dak can inspire the d.

You have. Not sure why you are objecting to it.

Would be highly disappointing if Cowboys managed to blow this. Would go into first round expecting a loss.

1 McCarthy is not going to be fired because of the results of this one game. Not with time and money left on his contract.

2. Dak’s reputation will remain the same. In other words, it depends on who you ask. His supporters will continue to support him regardless. His detractors will continue to hate on him. OK maybe we’ll see many more anti-Dak threads in the following week.

3. After 28 years, we’re already a laughing stock
Very good points. But losing a game like this in your 4th season is a very fireable offense. It's akin to the Colts having a win and they're in game against the 2-14 Jags and losing.

I agree that he won't be fired. But I think he should be. Because all confidence in that coach would be gone going forward. It's one thing to lose in the playoffs. An entirely different thing to lose to a crap team in the last game of the season to better your playoff chances.

Then we have to prove we can win on the road.

Then they will be the 5th seed and travel to either Tampa, New Orleans or Atlanta.
