What if we drafted Ramsey, would Darius had rushed for 1400 yds?

Jackson was never given the chance. In preseason he got 1 carry with the starting OL........was a 20 yard run around the edge and down the sideline. He has been on a 53 man roster since entering the league and if he doesn't make Clevelands roster he will be on somebody else's roster

He didn't have a 20-yard run in the preseason. His long was 15. And it doesn't matter who he runs behind, he needed to show he could bounce plays when the hole wasn't there or make the first guy miss. Jackson is a lot like a former back we had Tyson Thompson. Thompson stuck with us for a few years because he had good size and speed, even though he didn't have great vision or wiggle. Jackson might have better vision, but it's hard to tell that from last preseason. Like Thompson, he might be able to stick primarily as a kick returner if he cannot develop his game to where he's able to do more.

As I said, I would have given him some time to develop, but last preseason he was JAG.

You are wrong. It was called back due to a bogus T. Williams holding call. Nice try though

Ah, the offseason. Where we compare Darius Jackson to Zeke Elliott and hate someones smile.

If someone wanted to make the case that we should have drafted Ramsey and Jordan Howard, that would make sense. It's a decent argument since we could have gotten Howard much later than Elliott.

Using Darius Jackson as the basis of an argument to not draft Elliott, though, just has no teeth.

Relax. We have Jahad Thomas.

In a nut shell actually like his natural ability to tote the rock a lot better than Dunbar. .. but his speed, 4.62 40 yard dash is very suspect. While Jackson was a legit 4.4 guy with size. Just a sub par move, can't afford to be flaky on roster decisions in the NFL. Ask yourself what had Lance Dunbar ever done for anybody, except run a 4.3.

In the end maybe it's a really smart/good thing that Dallas has older Veteran RBs Morris/McFadden inked and probably the real reasoning behind the rueing of DJ.

So we're supposed to form our opinion around called-back runs? I form mine around the body of work and Jackson's was just OK.

Zeke didn't transform our offense. Arguably he didn't even have a better year than Murray did in 2014.

Our offensive line transformed our offense. That's offense sans Zeke has 4 first rounders not including a hall of fame tight end. Not one of those all. Pros could "transform" an offense. It's the consistent investment there that makes the unit great.

Jalen would have been but one such investment on the defense. It's the type of investment you HAVE to make. That's why it's so dumb to hear about how Jalen wouldn't transform a defense. It's a logical fallacy.
We drafted not one but 2 corners this year and have Anthony Brown who finished right behind Jalen in CB rankings for rookies last year and you are still complaining? lol. We have the best RB in the NFL, 2 top corners that fell to us in this draft and still you have to go with this ridiculous sentiment that Zeke wasnt worth the pick. Zeke single handedly won us games last season that Jalen (sorry to tell you ) wouldnt have had an impact in the way Zeke did. Green bay and Pittsburgh come to mind. You are so worried about money. Zeke costs less than what Murray wanted. Whats the issue here?

3 corners. Awuzie, Lewis and White.

Leveon Bell ran a 4.60 at the combine. Just never know how track speed and football speed will determine success.

Lol. Is this still a debate?

-We had our most succesful season in over 20 years

-Zeke was an MVP candidate and all-pro

-led the league in rushing and barely played the last game and a half

-helped make things much easier on our rookie qb sensation

And people still saying we shoulda took Ramsey

And before people come in here and say well we had the same success with Murray as our lead back, Murray was in his fourth year when he did that and Zeke is a rookie. Zeke will continue to get better and better while Murray reached his ceiling.

I don't know why it such a controversial question for some. The o-line took a past his prime RB that was coming off three consecutive seasons of 3.3 & 3.4 YPC and all off a sudden turned him into a 4.6 YPC RB without any semblance of a competent QB behind him to keep defenses honest.

That doesn't mean Zeke = McFadden, but it does lend credence to the idea of getting production out of a lesser back.

Dallas got production out of lesser RB in the 90's when Emmitt was out but we did not get the same big play impact out of those RB like we did with Smith. I think we can take an Avg RB and behind this OL he can do a nice job but in my opinion with a RB like Zeke he can make the bigger impact for the offense.

Thomas is like the opposite of Jackson, all moves but no speed or power. Dunbar had good speed and moves, but no power. I wasn't a fan of keeping him over Jackson because I thought Dunbar's role was unnecessary when McFadden was ready to return. However, the only reason I wanted to keep Jackson instead is because of Jackson's intriguing combination of size/speed, which is what landed him on another roster. Players with those kind of measurables get a long look in this league.

Well, Bell has nice power. Thomas is going to have to be a specialty back who takes advantage of space opportunities. He had some big plays in college but not a big average because his game is built on juking defenders with some pretty nifty movement skills.

Curvin "Swervin" Richards and Sherman Williams. Oh and remember Paul Palmer and the Nestea plunge?

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Former Crimson Tide standout and Dallas Cowboys star Sherman Williams is now out of federal prison after serving a 15 year sentence for distributing marijuana. Williams, who was just released in March, is wasting no time getting back into the community. This weekend he's coordinating a football camp for young players. He says he wants to make a difference in the same streets where he once made bad choices.

(Headline above reads Former NFL Star. Star of what?)

We are talking about ability and the fact he ran behind back ups. The holding call had no affect on the play, now you can say it didn't happen or what ever it is you believe but those are the facts.

Now I'm not saying he would be all-pro or anything but he had talent and would be long term back up here in Dallas with the ability to start a few games if need be
