What if we lose when Romo comes back?

Everyone is assuming we go on a run when Romo returns. But just looking at the alternative. If he lose to Miami and Carolina, what do we do then?

If we continue to lose, that is probably the next best scenario to winning out as long as the coaching staff would be willing to shut down our injured starters to let them heal fully and get the young players as much experience as possible, i.e. Chaz, Gregory, etc. .

Seeing the lack of any success with our backups should motivate the FO to use a high draft pick on Romo's successor (assuming there is one available when we pick....no sense on wasting a draft pick just for the sake of getting a QB....I only want to pull the trigger if the scouts think the draft pick can be a successful starter in the league). I would love to have our next QB sitting behind Romo for a couple of years to absorb everything he knows and how he approaches the game. The remaining high draft picks in each round and FA should help plug some obvious holes....DT, Safety, WR, RB, LB, CB, RT (Hard to believe before the season started I thought the only holes we really had was DT, RB...all the other positions we had a good combination of studs and JAGs to still perform at high level....boy was I wrong about that).

I would also hope that it would be enough to get the FO to move on from this coaching regime, but I doubt that will happen considering they just gave them new guaranteed contracts and they probably will not want to introduce a new offense for Romo to learn.

IF Romo is 100% healthy, he should play. I certainly hope they are not rushing him back. Like it has been said in here. He can't and will not fix this teams shortcomings. There are a lot. Romo is not going to make them all go away. I am hoping this is an eye opener to the FO that a QB needs to be found and soon for the future. Romo isn't going to play forever.

Who is everyone? I think most see a minimum of three more losses, one on Thanksgiving. Playing a playoff team coming off a road game and a short week. BTW, Miami could easily be a loss.

I'm pretty sure we will lose some games when Romo comes back. We weren't gang busters by any means the 1st 2 games and won by the skin of our teeth in both. When that happens, we'll unfortunately have to chalk this season to bad breaks. Our inability to win a single game during this stretch w/o Romo, to me, is completely unacceptable and if I will be very disappointed if no one is held accountable (ie Garrett)

I'm wonder why the question is "what if". Romo will not win the rest of the games. The more appropriate question is "What are reasonable expectations for Romo?". We have seven losses, so does an eighth loss get Romo the wrath of the fans? My best guess is, that depends on who that eighth lose is against. Miami is a win we have to have while an undefeated Carolina is a forgivable loss. The fans are understandable unhappy right now.

Rest assured that with the next costly interception (and all QB's have them, so it's inevitable) or poor overall game from the team, his detractors will be back. I mean the guy's a choker and can't read a defense...I heard it right here.

Please don't say everyone expects a run. I expect 3-4 no matter who the QB

I am not assuming we go on a run.

I think we win some and lose some with Romo in the game.

Romo does not make us unbeatable...but at the same time he does not make use 7 losses in a row bad either.

I would not be shocked if we lost his first game back and he did not look good.
He has been out some time and will probably be rusty and he will probably try to take the team on his back with the pressure to win which could result in him pushing too much and making risky throws.

I fist pump that were positioning ourselves for a top draft pick and hopefully the next franchise QB.

A better question would be what do we do if we start winning with Romo.

What if we win?

Bingo!

I'm not saying this team doesn't have problems but you can make a point we would've won every game except New England and could be 8-1 with Romo. If everything stays exactly the same starting next week won't lose too many more games.

If we are at least 500 with Romo I don't see how people don't have to realize how good he actually is. Unfortunately it took this season to show the world Romo has deserved more credit than he gets.

it's very possible. Miami can be tough, depending which team shows up. And Carolina obviously is a very good team. Even if the Cowboys are favored in every game, this is the NFL. We aren't the Patriots where you can expect a W just by showing up to the stadium.
