make playoffseven had they loss the 09 finale. Big win by Romo. Take nothing away from him. But it wasn't a win or go home game.

What about the freaking playoff game.................that is not a win or go home game?

What happens if we come out, play well, and end up with a victory? Say Orton plays a good, mistake free game and we win. How does that look for Tony? What if somehow we beat the eagles and win a home playoff game.

I don't think it will happen, but i just want to see how that would make everyone, and the media, feel about Orton finally getting the cowboys a win in this situation as opposed to Romo.

Most of us believe the season is over now anyway. So this is a what if thread.

Last time I checked, it wasn't the offense, but the d that has to play a good, mistake free game. Good luck with that.

I don't think we should expect Orton to be something he's never been. Romo is better than Orton at putting up numbers. What I want to see is Orton getting the ball out quick and getting it to his play makers. I want to see Orton look Dez's way FIRST, then look at everyone else. Take the sack or throw it away. If Orton wins this game, and wins a play off game or more, the answer is obvious. Romo is a choker, end of story.

So if Orton loses, he too is a choker. Gotcha. Or maybe the team as a whole chokes.

And if Orton goes out there and throws a couple of picks, has barely 50% completion..................we will not have to worry about a choke pick in the 4th quarter because the Eagles will already be polishing their NFC East trophy by then.

For everybody that thinks Romo is a choker, you may find life without Romo not a pleasing as you are thinking. It will be hard for Orton to choke when the game is already over with by the 4th quarter.

This thread is hilarious to me; this is a no-win situation for Tony for all of the anti-Romo-ists...not the game, but the result...
1) if he goes out there and plays with a herniated disk and wins, then the "team" won the game;
2) if he goes out with a herniated disk and loses, then Romo lost the game and shouldn't have been playing/choker/WOGH games record sucks
3) if he doesn't play and the team wins, then Orton does what tony can't in WOGH games
4) if he doesn't play and the team loses, then everyone says "we would have lost with tony in there anyway because of his record in WOGH games"

the guy isn't going to "win" no matter what with many fans...the romo haters already have one of the 4 options above queued up and ready to go

to me, I love Romo playing for this team and I hope he is playing on sunday, but only if healthy...I want the best team put out on the field and I don't care who is under center...a win is a win and the 4 options above mean nothing to me...I can just as easily put together the opposite of those 4....

Yep, Orton put the ball in some tight windows too, and I expect to see this offense rip, it will be a real eye opener for many. Now, I don't expect a mistake free game from a guy who had zero reps all season, but I do expect a shoot out.

Yeah, there's pretty much nothing Orton can do on Sunday to convince me he's anything other than a vastly inferior QB to Tony Romo.

I honestly expect Orton to play good if called upon... The guy has played good football in the NFL.

He's a bus driver. That may be our best hope for now.

I just don't agree, Eddie. A bus driver type is okay for a team with a strong supporting cast. The Cowboys lack talent. Their only shot, IMO, is a puncher's chance with Romo.

It will look fine for Tony. If we beat the Eagles it will be due to the defense playing out of their minds.

The world is full of WHAT IFs.

The reality is that we don't match up well with the Iggles.

I hope for the best. I hope we can win.

I'm sure the Polish cavalry hoped for victory as well when charged against German tanks.

Actually according to the only non circumstantial evidence we have....we match up tremendously with the Eagles. 17-3

Realistically, my expectations won't exactly be lofty ones if Orton is called upon the replace Romo against.the Eagles Sunday night. Philly is bound to be bringing the heat as never before if and when Kyle Orton takes the field in Romo's stead. It's no secret avoiding a heavy rush isn't one of Orton's strengths by any stretch. He also hasn't been exposed to enough live action lately to prevent him from being fairly rusty and unacustomed to the high speed rigors of live action. Even assuming Romo somehow manages to be called upon to play, there's a likelihood his performance could be limited by that ailing back. Of course, there's always that outside chance for a pleasant surprise. At least, let's hope so.

He's not even in the same zip code with Tony Romo as an NFL QB.

Did I say he was?? I said I expect him to play good, meaning get the ball out quickly and move the chains. We should be relying on Murray to run the ball anyways this game regardless if Romo plays or not....

I actually think we match up well with the eagles but without Lee we cant contain Mccoy.

Yeah, there's pretty much nothing Orton can do on Sunday to convince me he's anything other than a vastly inferior QB to Tony Romo.

Agreed. He's a backup for a reason. In a league desperate for good quarterbacks he'd easily be starting somewhere if he was that good. And it's not like he's a hidden gem or anything; dude has had his opportunities.

But, with that being said, I hope he has the game of his life Sunday night. I wanna see that Eagles defense give him the "Matt Cassel" treatment.

At this point I don't care who we trot out there at QB (assuming Romo ends up a no go), the way this season has gone I just want to see us squash the Eagles to sweep the East and win the division. Anything beyond that is gravy. I'd be ecstatic if we somehow won a home playoff game.

Make other plans for Sunday. Take the lady out. Go visit family. Friends. Something.
