What if we win Sunday night

What happens if we come out, play well, and end up with a victory? Say Orton plays a good, mistake free game and we win. How does that look for Tony? What if somehow we beat the eagles and win a home playoff game.

I don't think it will happen, but i just want to see how that would make everyone, and the media, feel about Orton finally getting the cowboys a win in this situation as opposed to Romo.

Most of us believe the season is over now anyway. So this is a what if thread.

I guess last weeks amazing drive to end the game didn't count. It was essentially an elimination game.

It wouldn't make me feel anything about Romo but that Orton was only able to play well because of having no pressure and playing with house money. It has always been easy for a guy with no pressure to perform in a game since everyone's expectations is low right now. There are not many people who have faith in Orton heading into this game which takes the pressure off of him

I think you're projecting your fantasies into reality again.

Ok we'll see how many people in national media write about how maybe the problem with Dallas has been Romo all along if Orton wins. Like I said, you can like it or hate it but you know the questions will come. Keep burying your head in the sand.

which brings me to my next point. Since people figured Romo would not have gotten it done, they are confident that Orton won't either which makes things a little tricky for the eagles defense lol

That is nothing like what you originally said... you said he'd "face questions", which is stupid. Yes, I have no doubt that even if we were to win in spite of Orton that some idiot writer will say that Orton infused some magic into the game with his mere presence or something. Who cares?

I find it hard to believe that even Romo haters, not a group known for logic, are hitching their wagon to some fantasy that Orton is going to make people forget about Romo or put Romo on the hot seat in any way. Romo haters should be praying that Romo plays. The Cowboys season is pretty obviously going to end in the next few weeks, most likely in some hopeless situation that is going to make the quarterback look bad regardless of who it is. Right now, Romo is going to be spared from that. Heck, right now his last moment of the 2013 season is throwing a season saving touchdown on 4th and goal from the 10. Romo haters should be on their hands and knees praying that he makes it back somehow.

I don't want romo to make it back, I want to keep all the pressure on the eagles

And then what, you think that pressure is going to transfer to the 49ers and Seahawks? At some point you are going to need your best players on the field, not "pressure".

Win and sweep the division and go into the playoffs playing with house money and get romo back next season

works for me

The Eagles are foaming at the mouth to play us. They want payback for game 1. All I want to see is a fight, and some character, you never know what could happen. I don't want to see quit in our players. This game should tell a lot about who should be on the roster next year. If we win that would be sweet.

I do get the feeling if that we win, some people genuinely will not be happy.

I'm a Cowboys fan first and a fan of individual players second. If we somehow win with Orton, that won't change my opinion of Romo at all. It just means we beat the Eagles and we are going to host a playoff game for the first time in 4 years and I am content with that.

As for everyone else, I feel like this board would erupt between the "Romo haters" and "Romo lovers" which is sad because we should all just be happy about our TEAM winning the division and focus our energy on that.

Romo Lover here :p

Its too early to know how it will work.

But it might be interesting if we do manage a win..

..and Romo could get another week of treatment.

Now that would be a Horse Of A Different color..

As they say.

The pressure is now on the Iggles big time.

Dallas should be very loose going into this.

But if Romo can play in a playoff game..

..that would be my best guess as to why they are not closing the door on Romo.

I think the real question should be "How do we win."
Orton is not a long term answer, he's a place holder. I would look at our QB situation no different.
I would however look at our coaching staff differently if they can put together a plan to usurp the offense of the Eagles.

Or they can put in the tape from 10/17 and see what worked that day and add to it

Good call. Although I think the Eagles are better now, I was there for that game, and the defense played the most physical game of the season. If they could recapture that and win, that would make my season…..even if it ends the weekend after….

Hopefully it continues… Go Boys!

We have to stop acting like winning this Sunday is some sort of impossibility. The Vikings beat this team two weeks ago with Matt Cassel at QB and no Adrian Peterson. We are infinitely more talented than they are. There's no reason why we can't win this game. No excuses for this coaching staff.

One reason why I think the Eagles lost was because they were scared to death of Cordarrelle Patterson. They squib kicked every kickoff and kept giving Minnesota great field position around the 35 yd line. Hopefully They do the same with Harris.

No we aren't, and without romo, we aren't close.

Why yes, they should be praying for another fine performance like last years season ender.
