Come on guys, you dak over the team guys will be giddy next year when we see the same crap. Then the Dak is the greatest QB ever threads will start again. "Dak is better than so and so." Lmao you guys never learn. Some of you guys thought Garrett was good too.

A smart team would draft a QB and plan for a succession in 2-3 years. But we aren't a smart team. So, my best guess is that Jerry and son are going to ride Dak until the tank is empty.

We will restructure and extend Daks contract and push millions into future years. Get ready for it. Dak will be here for another 4 to 5 years.
This is most likely what the Jones boys will do and what I'm most afraid of. Dak's 2023 contract calls for $30 million in salary and $12 million in signing bonus. No way will Stephen allow Dak's contract to eat up $42 million of the cap.

I think this is the quickest route:

1. Dak gets told he's being replaced and will be a June 1st 2024 cut. He likely wont get any snaps in 2023. No reasonable trade offer will be refused - even if we have to eat most of his remaining guarantee (which we will have to do if he isnt traded).

2. Draft QB in 1st round.

3. Sign a cheap veteran who can start the 2023 season while the rookie gets ready and serve as vet backup for the next couple of seasons.

4. Cut Rush, Grier etc - need a complete fresh start in QB room.

5. Bring in a couple of undrafted raw rookies to compete for a spot on the practise squad.

If Dak doesnt aak for a trade, leave him as an inactive 3rd QB on the roster. Give him no reps in practise - the other QBs who'll be playing need them.

6. Get rid of Kellen Moore and hire a new OC who has no ties to this Jason Garrett offense nor any loyalty to Dak.

So if the Packers agreed to trade Rodgers for Dak, and both players wave there no trade clause. How would the money work? They both have outs in 2024 and both of their cap hits are somewhat similiar. Could it be done financially? I literally can't stomach the thought of having Dak as the QB for 2 more years.
Rodgers ego will never allow it.

Brady/Roders and go all in
Tank next season and draft Caleb Williams

I don't see this team making the playoffs in 2023. The Eagles should repeat at winning the division and both the Giants and Commanders will be better than last season. My only concern is that Mike McCarthy will be the fall guy because the front office only cares about the perception that Dak is a good QB.

Fire Kellen , and Prescott wont be the same.

Guaranteed .
Nope, he'll be different.

Not better, though. He's had 7 years, if he hasn't gotten to the level needed by now, he never will.

But the Cowboys are at a point where adding a few key pieces, like a Parsons, aren't going to do it. Other players, like Lawrence, e.g. are now on the tail end of thier careers, by the time you add enough pieces, you'll need to replace the Lawrences, et al.

Dallas, like any other team that's not "getting it done", has options to get to SB- winning heights.

However, the option that should be done, can't be, due to Jerry's age. And that is to decimate the team and start from near-scratch. A Walker-type trade would be ideal, but no team is going to fall for that trap with Dallas again, not after a 3 in 4 year SB winning streak. Teams don't like America's Team, never will.

Keep a few young players like Parsons, Lamb, Tyler Smith, Pollard as a core.

Trade (if possible) Lawrence, Martin, Schultz, N. Brown and so forth, stack up as many draft picks as possible, draft a top qb prospect and as many other players as you can, and hope like heck enough of them turn out great to move the team off dead center.

But that would probably take 3-4 years, and at age 80 Jerry will be loathe to do that, would also cut way down on jersey sales, etc. and Jerry does like making money, just another reason not go start over.

a tall building and the balls to jump

Otherwise enjoy waiting a few years.
I wouldn’t trust him to go through with it. Now if they did it like they did in the movie “Old School” where they tied a rope around a boulder and the other around his junk, it would be more effective

We need a timeline of implementation. I love the guy- it's just not going to happen for him in Dallas. So let's move swiftly.

What are we facing?

Q2:

**Would anyone be supportive of sending a #1 to SF for Trey Lance if the 49ers win the SB?**
Dak isnt going anywhere until we have a better QB on the roster. Im all for finding the next Mahomes but good luck with that.

All this talk of dumping a top 10 QB when you have no replacement is a clown show.
