When I’m driving on the highway and I see Car X trying to merge into Car Y’s lane, but then Car Y decides to speed up and not let him in, or sometimes they speed up to not let them in but then end up slowing down to let them in.

It’s simply ridiculous. I call this stuff out to my wife when we’re driving. I’m batting around .900

No, they can't give you a ticket for driving the speed limit. If one ever tried that with you, he should be reported.

They do it if you're an out-of-state driver because they know you won't contest the ticket. I also think it's bad judgement to give someone a ticket for driving 5 MPH over the speed limit. That's a trivial offense in a sea of more serious infractions.

I'd send the ticket in with a "not guilty" plea, and point out that the officer gave me a ticket for obeying the law. The 5 mph thing is ticky tacky, for sure.

Yeah, it sucks in OK for certain. My sister and I both got tickets for 5 MPH over. Mine were Nebraska plates and hers were Colorado ones, and they happened on different dates. They target out of state drivers for sure. If possible I avoid even driving through there at all.

Another thing that I forgot which is near the top of my list happened this morning. Those people who block a right-turn line who goes straight!

As I was approaching a red light, it was a clear lane in which I would be able to turn right. There are three lanes at this light and there were two cars in the middle lane coming up to the red light which had just turned red from yellow.

This jerk in the second car in the middle swerves over in front of me in the right lane blocking me. Now, this particular light is a long one, almost 4 minutes. I sit there waiting to turn for 4 minutes, light turns green and he continues straight.....I was fuming mad by now and almost gave his bumper a little bump!

Have some common sense and courtesy people, bring a tad bit of awareness and consideration for other drivers. I never go up to a red light in the right lane if I am not turning right, especially if I would be one of the first three or four vehicles because I don’t want to hold up the lane.

I hate that, but it's often just because they thought the light would change soon, or they spaced out. Yeah, sometimes it's just a lack of consideration, but I've accidentally done it myself, so I can't get too upset with them...... unless it's obvious they just think they're too important to get in line.

He whipped over right in front of me, maybe 10ft of clearance......basically cut me off. This was an inconsiderate move and not anything else. It was a couple of young punks smoking something in a piece of crap from the late 80’s, a Honda I think. Yes, my blood pressure is still high!

I live on top of a mountain with a winding road leading down, so my biggest complaint is drivers crossing the double yellow lines. There's one lane on each side and multiple times, I've barely avoided head-on collisions with idiots coming up. There's not much room on the right to avoid them. Go too far and you're going off the side of the mountain. I was coming up a few months ago and traffic was stopped for an hour. When it finally started moving, we passed an obvious head-on collision. It was a full-size Ford truck and a little Toyota. The engine in the Toyota was pretty much on the windshield and the driver was killed.

Back before I got tired of all the Radio Rambos and pulled the CB out of my truck, I'd get the occasional trucker who'd start talking smack to me because he wanted to move over into my lane, but I didn't hit my brakes and let him in. I'd say, "Hey driver, I didn't know you wanted to come over here.....If only there was some way you could've communicated that......You know, some kind of SIGNAL you could've given."

Yep, I hate that especially for lights with long timing cycles. They would have definitively been flipped off from me.
Another thing that irks me is people that pull in front of you all of the sudden, then decide they want to turn and takes them forever to complete the turn.
