What Kind of Start Would it Take to bench the QB?

If he performs in the pocket like he did the end of last season hes not the one that needs to be gone it's Kellen Moore who has him in the pocket instead of moving.

We went 8-8 under Romo three straight seasons and he never got benched. You don’t bench your franchise QB unless you have a better option. We didn’t have a better option then and we don’t have a better option now.

Given that Zeke played terrible last year after his injury and continued to start the entire time, it would have to be something ridiculous. Like, an 0-15 start. Dak could take a dump on Jerry's desk and he wouldn't lose his job.

One of the important points about a team pulling a starter is if they feel a backup has any kind of potential they need to see or if he gives them a commensurate chance to win the football game.

Dallas hasn’t attempted to invest in its backup QB position since… well, Dak, besides that one year of Dalton. There is no one to bench him for; if he starts the season 0-3, 0-4, 0-5, then Dallas wouldn’t be able to convince anybody that Rush or Dinucci or whoever could have done better. Dak will stay in even if it’s 0-17.

And your premise that losses means bench the QB is wrong. Team game. Losses do not mean the QB is playing poorly.
