Question: Can the Cowboys continue their winning ways in the "regular season?"

YES.

One slight advantage favoring Dallas is the fact that Jacksonville has little to go off of, other than pre-season, in film study for the 2-TE set.

Everyone knows that very little is ever shown in preseason, and I would expect some confusion from the Jags defense as a result of being unable to prepare for certain looks that will be shown from the 2TE set.

Taking advantage of mismatches when they occur, will be the difference on sunday.

I don't agree with this. The Minnesota game gave the exact formula to play against Bledsoe and a suspect O-Line. Stack the box, pressure up the middle, and force Bledsoe to beat you. Our O-Line looked weak against Minnesota's starters. We had a number of errors and bad center-QB exchanges. I think Jax's corners can stay with Glenn and TO long enough for the pressure to get to Bledsoe. We are going to have trouble moving the ball. We'll see.

Don't let these guys catch you underestimating them. I think this may be a dog fight there in Florida. IMO early scores may be critical as both defenses will realize that this game is going to count!

This will not be an easy walk in the park.
So glad we have Iggle fans here to tell us that opening on the road against a team that was 12-4 last year will not be a "walk in the park".

Why do you post such dribble ?

Even when Minnesota brought the pressure though, Bledsoe was still not sacked and was 9-11. I think Bledsoe's really making a conscious effort to get rid of the ball quicker, and it's helping the OL. Also I don't think Jax's DL is quite as good as the Vikes'. Yeah they have Stround and Henderson, but Williams and Williams are close there. Minnesota's ends are way better than Jax (James and Udeze vs. Hayward and Spicer).

I think we'll see runs behind the tackles and on the edges, and we can be successful there.

I have noticed a quicker release by Bledsoe this training camp. I think the drills BP has been using during training camp with the QB's has had an effect on Bledsoe getting the ball out a bit quicker, especially on the 3 and 5 step drops

Never happen!

Nobody wants that "choke artist" in Dallas!

Let him try to convince himself and his teammates that he's some kind of "leader" in Philadelphia.

Then when they stink again this year, he won't have Owens to blame for his failings anymore.

I'm not obligated to tell you anything WV C! However, I'll mention that everyone here may not have the football savvy that you seem to have. I'm sure some of the fans (I know they would never admit it), did not know, or took the time to find out about the interesting, relevant dribble.

I think we lose the game 17-13. Our entire fanbase will go insane and the media will claim TO orchestrated the entire affair, but vandy is perfect on the day(go figure). Afterwards we proceed to have a fantastic season anyway. I've thought all along that this is will be one of the toughest games we'll play all year. I think our Oline struggles with their big interior 2some all day long.
Good post... I see something similar happening.

I just hope fans won't go berzerk if we lose. Jax is a good to very good team playing at home, and they could very well take it to us. But even the best teams don't win every week... We could very well lose this game and still have a great season.

IMO, both defenses are very stout, but Dallas just has so many more weapons with which to score. Jacksonville is without Jimmy Smith and Greg Jones, two big contributors to the 2005 offense. The defense is without Mike Peterson, their leading tackler in 2005 and one of their sack leaders.

As for the 12-5 record last year, notice that the Jags were 3-4 against teams with winning records. The record of opponents in the other 10 games? A combined 43-117. They can only play the teams in front of them, but the Jags played many games against some of the worst teams in the league, including 6 against Hou, Tenn, SF, and the Jets. The 12-5 record was smoke and mirrors, and the Jags were exposed (3-28) by a veteran NE defense in the playoffs.

It's always hard to win against good defenses, especially on the road. I don't see the Jags scoring too many points, so that should give Dallas a good chance to pull this one out.

Peaking of fans....

I'm sure everyone here knew the Jags made the playoffs last year. I'm sure they were all aware how the Jags stars played. We're also aware that Dallas is a more talented, deeper team than the Jags at almost every position on the field.

You're not breaking any new ground, Copernicus.

There's no way people don't go berserk. Look what happened when we tied a good Minnesota team. ;)

Can you imagine if TO is somewhat stymied?

Trust me, it doesn't take any football savy to know that Jacksonville will a tough opener, on the road.

I wonder what posters on the Iggles board opinion is of you.

Maybe that's why you post here so much.

It must be awkward enough posting your foolishness on an Iggles board, but to reveal yourself to a whole other fanbase seems amazing to me.

You go PT, whatever fills your tank.

I'd be willing to gamble against this. Their corners are solid but nothing special. If they stack the box they are inviting trouble IMO.

If I were them I would let the strength of my line do its job up the middle with those two DTs against our average interior and make sure Glenn and TO don't get behind my safeties.

I'm here because I've learned to respect certain Zoners; regardless of their fan affiliation. We know how to disagree, and insults each others perspectives without making it personal.

Who cares what's amazing to you! The Only thing I'm revealing to you is that what you're saying to me is meaningless right now.

unfortunately niether am I...hope he proves us wrong, but I can see the kicking game costing us again

to me its the same 3 concerns its been for years...no pass rush, poor OL and poor kicking...I really hope they are all better or at least average, otherwise we are in for a disappointing season

David
We've got the pass rush now, but the OL and kicking are still iffy. I think our biggest concern is and will be the run blocking.
