Yeah... In preseason.superpunk said:There's no way people don't go berserk. Look what happened when we tied a good Minnesota team.
Don't get touchy when someone does you the same turn you do others. You mocked WV's use of "dribble", you should have made sure your post was perfect, otherwise, you can count on me countering with something just as shallow and pedantic. You should know that by now, PTPhoenix-Talon said:superpunk lands one right on the chin, but wait, PT is still on hs feet ...by the way, the uppercase "P" denotes the beginning of a sentence ...mine was a lower case "p" denoting a typographical error.

I don't think it was all smoke and mirrors. You're discrediting what they did because they played a few bad teams. They were 4-2 in their division. Granted there are some bad teams in their division, but division games are hardly ever a push-over. They also beat the Bengals, Steelers, and Seahawks. The Steelers and Seahawks where in the Superbowl! That speaks volumes about how good that were. They lost twice to the Colts, but then again the Colts had the best record in the league at 14-2. They also lost to the Broncos were again were one of the best teams in the NFL last year. Their only other loss was to the Rams which they lost by a field goal. The Rams had a blocked punt for a TD, and an 83 yard TD pass. Two break downs in coverage (1 pass coverage and 1 special teams resulted in 14 points) Subtract those two breakdowns and the game was 21-10 Jacksonville and the Jags end up 13-3 last year. Just like if you subtract a few missed field goals Dallas was 10-6.kmd24 said:As for the 12-5 record last year, notice that the Jags were 3-4 against teams with winning records. The record of opponents in the other 10 games? A combined 43-117. They can only play the teams in front of them, but the Jags played many games against some of the worst teams in the league, including 6 against Hou, Tenn, SF, and the Jets. The 12-5 record was smoke and mirrors, and the Jags were exposed (3-28) by a veteran NE defense in the playoffs.

Which just happen to be the best team in the regular season. Lets not forget that.superpunk said:They lost two games to the only good team in their division.
You're right, and the Jags did exactly what they should have done. Picked off 3 passes (returned one for a TD) and shutdown the Steelers for 218 total yards. The Steelers had a punt return for a touchdown. By my last post and this one, the Jags weakness is special teams. What is clear is that the Jags are a VERY tough defense. True, then again the Seahawks weren't expected to go to the Superbowl last year were they?superpunk said:They beat the Seahawks by only 12, despite being +5 - that's right, +5 - in TO differential that day.
Criticized for what? Not going 13-3 beating the Rams or because they went 12-4 and had the 4th best record last season? They beat the teams they should have beaten, and even beat team they shouldn't have. I don't have any criticism for what they did last year. They did what the Cowboys could not. Win the games they should have won and even won some of the game they shouldn't have.superpunk said:Criticism of their schedule last year is legit.

I just hope fans won't go berzerk if we lose. Jax is a good to very good team playing at home, and they could very well take it to us. But even the best teams don't win every week... We could very well lose this game and still have a great season.
