Eric Berry S Tennessee Jr.

He could have played in the NFL last year, easy. He will have to wait one more year. He's the best football player in the country (college football) and a top 5 pick.

Being from and living in Austin, I've always been partial to Roy Williams in the blue and silver. But that dream has already taken place.

I'd have to say Jerome Bettis. Something about that guy . . .

I followed Baylor pretty closely back in the old SWC days and loved Mike Singletary. I remember Gil Brandt saying he was too short. It depressed me to watch the career he had with the Bears, believing he should have been a Cowboy.

Another one is Darrell Green.

Both were Texans. Both were considered too short by some (this isn't basketball), both are great men of character. Both should have been a Cowboy.

Regarding the current players, probably Ed Reed.

The most prolific wideout and the best 3-4 defensive end in the game would make Dallas a three peat shoe in.

Past:

Orlando Thomas, wanted him drafted in 1995 to shore up safety depth, he was a solid safety that would've tandemed well with Woodson after the the attrition of Everett, Washington and Marion and Teague.

Tony Brackens, Dallas was without excuse not to draft him with pick 30 in the 1996 draft, instead traded down and got Kavika Pittman.

Anthony MacFarland, when Dallas was hurting at DT I wanted him to be drafted with absolute covetous.

Heck yeah on Booger McFarland... I remember that draft I thought no way anybody else needed a DT until defense crazy Dungy got on board. Friggin' Bucs.

Pick a current player and someone from the past.

It does not have to be superstar players. Explain your reasons.

Current

Patrick Willis. I had a serious man crush on him going into the Draft the year he came out. I was sick to my stomach when he ran his 40 time and I knew he was goign to shoot up the Draft boards and be out of reach.

Past

Chris Spielman. I can't decide whether he was a superstar or not. I just liked the way he came to work. I respect a blue color guy on the football field.

Hos, you ever live in Detroit? Spielman was pretty darn good.

Can I ask why so many of you have Randy Moss as a guy from the past? Did I miss something? Last I heard he is still playing for the Patriots and has no plans for retiring anytime soon.

I guess it must be contagious.

Mike Alstott. I absolutely LOVED watching him play. I also secretly wished for us to go winless in 1997 so we could draft Peyton Manning.

Chris "El Loco" Spielman?

Myself, I think the player from another team I always thought should have played for the Cowboys: Tom Landry.

Alas, he only wore the Giants colors.

His wiry frame, toughed by the South Texas life and his grit and toughness would have been a thing to watch on the Cowboys . . .

My favorite Cowboy of all time is Tony D, but in anoher place and time i would have loved to see Earl Campbell as a Cowboy.

LT would be cool to match with DWare:eek:
