Pick a current player and someone from the past.

It does not have to be superstar players. Explain your reasons.

Current

Patrick Willis. I had a serious man crush on him going into the Draft the year he came out. I was sick to my stomach when he ran his 40 time and I knew he was goign to shoot up the Draft boards and be out of reach.

Past

Chris Spielman. I can't decide whether he was a superstar or not. I just liked the way he came to work. I respect a blue color guy on the football field.

IIRC Spielman was almost a Cowboy after the 1995 season as our players made a strong pitch to him at the Pro Bowl prior to him becoming a free agent, but he was turned off by Barry Switzer's behavior (the hot dog) and ended up signing with the Bills.

I remember that and it is yet another reason why I hated Switzer.

Current player, well he has not played a down as of yet but I wish we had Crabtree. I watched the kid play for a good while now and I think he will become a great player in the NFL.

Past Player: I have to go back a few years but I was always a fan of Howie Long when he was playing.

I don't spend a lot of time wishing for things that couldn't have happened, but in the past, I regret we passed on Montana and Marino and weren't able to trade up to get Jerry Rice. Currently, there have not been a lot, but I do wish we had gone after Ed Reed and stuck to our guns and just selected Steven Jackson when we had the chance.

Present - Vince Wilfork.

Past - Reggie White. Can you imagine practice with Reggie against Erik W?

Present - Ed Reed, no question.

Past - Reggie White

Present - Andre Johnson

Past - Joe Montana

I see to recall seeing him say that in an interview somewhere, or maybe I read it in a book...yeah that was it. I read it in Hell Bent where Bayless recalled the situation where they'd spent all that time at the Pro Bowl selling him on coming to Dallas and it was undone in one moment when he looked over and saw Switzer sitting on the bench eating a hotdog.

Present - Patrick Willis or Ed Reed. Either or would be fantastic.

Past - Without a doubt it's Montana or Rice. There isn't even anyone else close.

Jerry Rice, Randy Moss

Watching and enjoying the Montana to Rice combo. Yes, I agree. Always wished Rice was a Cowboy.

Current: Calvin Johnson
Past: Mike Singletary

Nice picks eh.

Johnson is stuck in a terrible situation but he is one of the most talented WRs I've ever seen.
