What to expect (differently) from Cassel?

I think Cassel can't help but do a better job than Weeden. I think he is a smart QB who will use that to his advantage. At least I think he will try to win the game rather than not lose it like Weeden did.

Cassel is a average quality qb at his best. He only been in this offense for 3-4 weeks. Don't be surprise if this game get real ugly. I hope I'm wrong but hey.

Thing is TOP was about even in the saints game. I think offense needs to do better in converting 3rd down than we have been and maybe with Cassel they will I don't know. However my big concern has been defense. We are not getting the turnovers and have played poorly in stopping 3rd downs.

IIRC the TOP in the Saints game was 34-26 in the Saints favor.

I see that is was 29:20 to 30:53 and to allow a simple wheel rout to go the distance was pathetic. I agree offense needs to do more but what I saw in the Alt game and the NO from the defense was poor. I'm sorry you score the points Dallas did in the 2 game you better believe I expect the defense to hold up better.

Did you have a good time at the game? Minus the result.

hopefully Gregory being back helps alleviate that some

I agree. I think last game vs the Pats was tough they are a great team and chances are the best we face this reg season. Coming off a bye and the addition of Gregory I expect the defense to start performing like a top unit.

I expect more of the same, because that's the way this season is going. Why, why, why can't we have a good offense AND a good defense?

Why can't we just catch a brief lightning in the bottle with a backup QB for a few games, we have to be due for that.ha

If nothing else, with our whole D on the field, Cassel should have better field position, and that will make it easier to put points on the board. It also should mean that the turnovers will finally start rolling in, so he should benefit from more possessions, and we should score more points.

Best case: Weeden with a little more "magic", i. e. savvy, ability to sense the moment to throw, wait for things to develop, etc... what separates a crafty vet from a chucker.

Worst case: whatever Cassel was attempting to do against New England last year.

Dez gives us the downfield threat that's been missing, he changes everything no matter who the QB is, if he plays we win

I think the difference between weeden and cassel is about equal to the difference between
JarJar Binks and Luke Skywalker. Oh and to answer the question: I expect a more Jedi like performance
I would've substituted Jar Jar Binks for a MSE6 mouse droid as a proper Weeden comparison. I mean, Jar Jar was a joke but why insult him?

Not really. He might yell a lot on the sidelines when he realizes that Weeden nor Cassel can get him the ball the way Romo can though. That could be entertaining.

More than one minute and 35 seconds on the field of play for the offense. That'll be lovely.

The defense should be the best conditioned in the league after these last four games, tho.

If the defense can have a great game--which is very possible--then maybe Cassell won't be asked to do so very much.

Definitely a possible win. :D

I expect a team that can actually field an NFL offense similar to the Texans or Buffalo for instance. May not be NE or GB, but it doesn't have to be if we play good defense. What we watched for the past 3 weeks was dog mess!

Without Dez and with CMike, Cassel has been given an impossible task to complete. They have set this man up for failure.

Yup, you beat me to it. The Jints will stack 9 men in the box ... double Witten, and dare the WR's to get open. Williams and Street will be covered like flies to ****.

Cassel will play dink and dunk. The running lanes will disappear. We're going to be back to same nonsense we were under Weeden.
