DET
Chiefs

Two of the Champ game participants just did, and SF gave up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks for McCaffrey.

You've got this one incorrect.
Not really.

Just look it up. This isn't 1980. There will always be an occasional exception....but that's the modern NFL.

That's the mindset 98% of the time. Just look it up! It's not that hard

380 first round selections in last dozen years....12 were RBs...and most weren't resigned to a legit 2nd contract...because they were mostly used up after their rookie deal. Twelve out of 380.

Yes, really. I gave you facts, dude, the most successful teams value RB's. You've got this thing in their head that they completely lack value, and it simply isn't true.

CLEARLY an OL would be the best RB we get that. With that said, would you like to see a bigger more physical running back, or a back that's smaller in size with more of a potential for homeruns?? What type of RB would work best in our offense?
Coogleberry, like Jim Brown, except young.

Jaylan Wright from Tennessee is my "Pet Cat" - HOME RUN speed, yet doesn't seem to shy away from contact.

It won't matter. In 2016 we had Ezekiel Elliott behind the best line in the NFL and still lost in the first round of the playoffs.
There's only one position that the Cowboys HAVE to change, and unless that happens, nothing else will matter.
Lemme guess - ANOTHER Dak dig. Do you remember how many points the D gave up that day?

Simple answer......one that can have a hole to run through by a decent run-blocking OL.

I remember the Cowboys offense doing nothing until the Packers were ahead by three scores, and then the Cowboys coming back against a prevent defense and tying the game, only to have Green Bay win at the end. That became the M.O. of Dak; he'd choke until the opponent got comfortably ahead, and then pad his stats against the defense when they played loose because they had the game won. Then all of his fans would point to his stat totals as evidence of him being so great, and point to the defense as the problem because they had to play the game by themselves for the first 40 minutes while Dak was choking.
Back then Dak was very erratic and his passes would sail out of control, kinda the way he was throwing to CeeDee in the last game.
This is why Dak's fans love stats. He pads his stats against prevent/loose defenses but they don't show how he shuts down and makes the defense play the game by themselves when the game is in contention.
I wasn't going to go there, but you asked.

That was last season with Zeke playing ahead of him. Our running game was ranked higher last season. Pollard wasn’t as good this season as the lead back. It was obvious to everyone.
Our run game probably ranked higher because the OL was certainly performing better than what it did in '23,
plus Pollard multi explosive plays added to that.

- And you want a Zeke taking a load off a Pollard.. just as you want a Dillion, etc taking a load off an Aaron Jones.
But if Dillion get the dirty churning carries, does that mean Aaron Jones is not your lead back ?

- It depends upon OL unit and coach scheme - the only other thing I need to find out is if Pollard is the same back now, as what he was in '23.
If so, he never the same again , he becomes just serviceable and ordinary - he's no longer pro bowl caliber.

- Pollard should not be asked to take a bell cow pounding - just to prove he is a starting back,
Lions use small backs in Gibbs & Montgomery to get a very effective run game gong (and they use them in pass game) , but we don't see them
pounding, grinding purely right up the middle, as if that's the only way coaches know how to use them.

- also i noticed that the Lions allowed their RBs to get QB under center handoffs, not freakin shotgun handoffs like we do too often.
