What we missed out on...

..................is a filter for these threads.

Interesting clips they showed on NFL Access of the Cowboys War Room discussion of the rbs. Jerry is quoted talking to Wade,"that is a bad place not to have a mentally tough guy." Wade is quoted,"You're getting a great work ethic from one guy..." Then back to Jerry,"Let's go Jones".

Well, there are differences between them but they were both top tier RBs.

Geesh, get over it already. Nothing you can do.

Except discuss it on a website dedicated to discussing the draft...is that ok?

P.S. - I am not over the julius/steven jackson debacle, something tells me passing on a stud like mendenhall isnt gonna get accepted and dismissed in 24 hrs.

I like the Felix trade, and they also got Choice so it makes it a good RB draft by the boys

Notice he makes guys miss in a crowd.

Compare it to Felix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_8OLufobMc

Who doesn't really do that, but instead cuts off blocks and beats guys to the corner.

A lot of Felix' highlights are of him running in open field, while Mendenhall's highlights are him in a crowd, breaking arm tackles, the hesitation moves, the cuts.

I just want to make it very clear that we will live to regret passing on this kid. I know Felix is a good fit for us, but you don't pass on a lion to take a tiger.

The tiger looks nice and sexy, but the lion is the king of the jungle.

I'll cheer on Felix, and I think he'll have a good career while he's here, but the "Mendenhall looked too much like Barber" excuse is the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard.

I hope Felix proves me wrong, I really and truly do, but I can't help but feel we out smarted ourselves on this one.

Um, you might want to revise that statement after checking this out:

Felix creates his own 'open space'... you will love this guy. He is the anti-Julius Jones (everything we ever hoped to see from Julius, based on his early flashes, but mever materialized).

Actually I doubt it, but it's ok for you to think we will.

My rue comment was based on a thread awhile back stating the same thing about another player the 'boys didn't pick. It was pretty funny, then.

That's an interesting observation. Drew Boylhart (thehuddlereport.com) mentioned the same thing concerning Mendenhall in his initial scouting report. He said that while Mendenhall is a great talent, he just isn't sure Mendenhall has the mentallity of a great rb. Drew refused to expand on this observation. I thought Mendenhall may have some sort of mental/learning disorder, but after reading Jerry's quote, I'm beginning to realize why some say Mendenhall didn't display this ability in his freshman or sophomore years in college, and is basically a 1 year wonder. He couldn't even beat out his predecessor who went undrafted. I guess Wade and JJ were concerned about this unknown factor, while Felix has played and excelled in the SEC, so we know he's mentally tough.

Dude, let it go. Felix is better. stop trying to find stuff that is not there. he probably does not know how to read his blocks nor set up defenders to be blocked which is probably why he has to make people miss while he is in the crowd. LOL

The cuts and wiggle that felix has makes for a great running style. I wish someone would answer this question that I keep asking "how could an undrafted RB keep Mendenhall on the bench for 2yrs?"

This is something that I have always asked as well " the lion cannot defeat an Elephant, and no one is sure that it can defeat a tiger, tigers are just as big plus just as the hyenas attacks lions, lions attack tigers the same way.

I think you may be right, they possibly simply knew a lot more about Felix than Mendenhall.

We don't know that, but we'll find out. Should be interesting.

B#%& and moan all you want. i'll be sporting my #28 F. Jones Jersey in the fall.

I have to admit, whenever Mendenhall fell right into our laps, I was thinking.... "I can't believe he fell right into our laps like that." then when we passed him over, I couldn't believe it. I liked Felix, and I thought we were going to draft Felix (because he was going to be the best of the RB's that fell to us since I figured Mendenhall would be gone), I was just shocked that we valued what he brought more than we did Mendenhall. You're right count, we'll have to wait and see if we made the right move, hopefully Felix does great. Until then I'm just going to enjoy what we have, and hope he does great without worrying about what could have been.

That's a huge *****!!!:lmao2:

Having seen both backs play against USC, live at that, I'll say this: The back I feared getting the ball, over all of them, was Jones, or "that quick little f$%er!" as my friends and I called him. That includes Darren McFadden as well. While it's the pros and things are different, what I saw from Jones was a really amazing elusiveness.

He'll be great for us. Would Mendenhall be better? Maybe. But hopefully if he is, it'll come down to a Ware vs. Merriman style "Who is better?" Either one you'd want on your team.

I hope so too... except I hope Mendenhall is the one on steroids. ;)

And to the rest of you stooges that can't actually have a discussion with someone light heartedly, eat it.

It's just football.
