I had to listen on the radio driving home from vacation, but the national radio guys said the same thing. Everyone knows he has no deep game and in the NFL if you can't go deep and keep them honest, your name better be Tom Brady or Joe Montana. Two of the only guys I can think of that didn't really have to go deep they were so accurate.

Guy has plenty of Arm, it the dumbest thing i've heard so far

to be fair the throw to beasley was bad. If he throws that in front of him its a walk in td...he threw up and behind him as he did the whole second half.

HIs scouting reports said he struggled with accuracy and you could see today that is his flaw. He has everything but the ability to throw with accuracy on a consistent basis.

Dez should have caught the other ball. No question but that first one to beasley is on dak.

If dak is this inaccurate going forward he is going to get our wr/te hurt. you can't throw behind guys, you just can't.
That pass to Beasley was still catchable.

As others have pointed out his "mechanics" slipped as the game went on.

Too many pass attempts probably combined with the rushing offense failing and putting even more pressure on him.

LOL. I knew this would be the excuse used once he proves he's the GOAT.

The Cowboys passed on Wentz. Both the 1st and 2nd picks in the draft we're available, the Cowboys had the best positioning of any other team with the exception of the Chargers who didn't need a QB, and they decided to pass.

My gosh you're a useless Eagles fan.

Romo barely won last year's opener, and that was with a come from behind touchdown, so I don't see what Romo would have done that would have been so different... and that was to a Giant's team prior to them investing a ton of money into their defense. Dak has done enough to win games. How has he not showed enough to win games when we were a Terrance Williams sideline and a Dan Bailey fieldgoal away from winning?

we didn't lose because of what williams did, that would have set up a 62 yd field goal. So stop with that.

Romo has the whole offense at his hands and can get out of plays. When they walk 9 guys to the line of scrimmage he would have moved guys around and gotten out of the plays.

I am not saying dak is bad or we lost because of him, what I am saying is he is not good enough to play at the level this team needs to win because of this horrendous defense.

and last year romo lost dez and didn't have him for the game so he was playing with williams, beasley and street. Everything about it was different but mostly its Romo's understanding of the game and what to do in big situations that was the difference today.

Seriously. If you're an NFL team and you draft a quarterback, he better have some semblance of arm.

And if the NFL radio team says something, it's almost certainly either false or media spin. Nothing good comes out of NFL media.

Exactly right. It was catchable.

catchable sure. but behind him and over his head as most of the throws were in the second half.

he is not scoring even if he caught it. I would like to think we could have run it in from that spot but we will never know.

Put. The Drink. Down. The Pigeons were stupid enough to mortgage their future on a quarterback. If Dak doesn't turn out, the Cowboys wasted a fourth rounder. Get over it.

You wanted them to trade up for Wentz? You're sick.

The real problem was Elliott wasn't sharp and neither was the run blocking for the most part. Put way too much pressure on the passing game.

He put the team in a position to win and he didn't turn the ball over. That's a great start, IMHO.

Dez, Witten, et al have to catch the football. Even if they're bad throws.

You're right there. No idea what would have happened from there.

When you dominate the game like that and hold the ball nearly the entire first half you shouldn't have to worry about a couple of bit players running out of bounds to stop the clock for a game winning FG, The reason why it was such a close game is because the QB wasn't capable of exposing the defense for selling out entirely on the running game. They lined up daring Dak to beat them and he couldn't do it. A capable QB would have gashed them down the field early for big plays and points.

I wouldn't expect any rookie QB to do this right now. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying this is why we lost, it's understandable, but I don't think this player will ever be good enough to be an elite franchise QB.

I wouldn't go as far to say that he'll never be good enough to be an elite franchise QB. Atleast I wouldn't say that right now after only one game, but you are right in your assessment of the game and his performance.

I agree with many posters here and their sentiments regarding the coaching staff and gameplan but one thing now is clear. This offense is a different animal with a healthy Tony Romo on the field.

that was not on the run blocking or zeke. They put everyone up and smothered the running game especially coming out of the half when they had an idea on what our passing game was. They knew we would check down just like we did with weeden and not make them pay for attacking the line of scrimmage. They sold out to stop the running game, they pressed on the outisde.

They said all week they would do everything to stop the run and make dak beat them and they succeeded.

But I think he has the potential to be down the road.

It's a huge learning curve and I believe he's ahead of it.

He's starting as good as the guys we had last year at backup and they had years to learn the NFL game and in Weeden's case the offense. This was Dak's first live action. If he's the worker everyone says he is I fully expect him to become a very good QB some day.

Can you imagine if we did that moronic move and the Eagirls ended up with Dak? This place around would be unbearable.
But did you see what the Pigeons did to the Super Bowl favorite Cleveland Browns?

This board is in midseason form. You guys are great, but so many silly people here.
