What were your impressions of Prescott

What would Romo have done differently this game? We barely beat the giants last year and needed a come from behind win. We could have possibly won this game if Terrance Williams knows how to get out of bounds.

C'mon man, you're better than that.

Romo gets those guys back off the line, opens up Zeke and Morris and makes Dez look like his old self. In fact, I think we win pretty handily with Romo if the defense holds them to 20 points.

Dak's going to be fine, he just has to hold the fort down which I think he will.

that was not on the run blocking or zeke. They put everyone up and smothered the running game especially coming out of the half when they had an idea on what our passing game was. They knew we would check down just like we did with weeden and not make them pay for attacking the line of scrimmage. They sold out to stop the running game, they pressed on the outisde.

They said all week they would do everything to stop the run and make dak beat them and they succeeded.

The challenge with that statement is that Morris looked good running under the same circumstances.

Put. The Drink. Down. The Pigeons were stupid enough to mortgage their future on a quarterback. If Dak doesn't turn out, the Cowboys wasted a fourth rounder. Get over it.

The Pigeons have recouped most of their picks for trading for Wentz. If he busts, they are out a 2nd and 3rd rounder, at worst.

I'd have paid that for Wentz.

I wouldn't go as far to say that he'll never be good enough to be an elite franchise QB. Atleast I wouldn't say that right now after only one game, but you are right in your assessment of the game and his performance.

I agree with many posters here and their sentiments regarding the coaching staff and gameplan but one thing now is clear. This offense is a different animal with a healthy Tony Romo on the field.

I can't possibly give you a like if you're even alluding to the possibility that I'm wrong on something.

It's a shame too because you made some good points in there.

But I think he has the potential to be down the road.

It's a huge learning curve and I believe he's ahead of it.

That's fair and I agree he's ahead of the curve but, again, those ready to send Romo packing and roll with the great Dak Prescott look pretty dumb right now. At some point that WILL be the case. I'm in no hurry to hasten that process. Romo makes that defense pay for loading up against the run like they did today. Prescott has no idea how to even approach that yet.

And the 2nd round pick they blew.

He might be fine, but both Wentz and Prescott did what were expected of them today. The Browns are terrible. IDK about the Giants, yet. Our defense was bad and the receiving corps under performed.

He had a better burst without a doubt. I am not sure what zeke's speed is but it doesn't really feel like he has a big second gear.

I am not worried about the running game or the line however. My concern going forward is that today was checkdowns and safe throws and dak was really inaccurate. going forward teams have something to attack.

if the accuracy doesn't come around its a real problem.

again though I have zero concerns with the running game and zeke, I happen to think this giants defense is very good and I think it should be good enough to allow them to win the east.

I don't disagree. It would be nice to see a little more creativity on offense to help him out.
Obviously some of that conservatism was to keep Dak comfortable. At some point, if he improves, you would expect the creativity to increase offensively.

Could have easily had at least 2 pics. Those overthrows in the middle of the field won't always hit the ground. I thought he played well, considering.
He certainly didn't play Romo out of a job though. He clearly needs to sit and watch for a couple years. Hopefully Romos backbone doesn't turn to jelly this soon

That's fair, too.

We'll have to see how he progresses as the year goes. I doubt the progress will be fast enough to save the season, though.

The Giants didn't impress me at all. They survived for a 1 point win against a team with no QB.

Well, the Cowboys aren't a particularly creative offense. They're quite basic, which is fine as long you have overwhelming talent.

Something dak can learn from romo. Catchable passes. Far too often he threw it high and hot over the middle. Opening his guys up to hits and limiting YAC potential. He also under threw a few deep balls where dez had steps.

I would give him like an A in everything except accuracy which was like a D.

Depends on how many games Romo misses. I seriously doubt we'd be talking about how good their defense was if we had Romo under center. I think their defensive line is very good though.

But did you see what the Pigeons did to the Super Bowl favorite Cleveland Browns?

This board is in midseason form. You guys are great, but so many silly people here.
You have to understand though some people simply couldn't wait to do this. Its a job for some of these people to be negative and troll Cowboy fans.

I don't think we'll go winless with him, and I'm not convinced Romo won't be back after game 4 or so.

I'm not sure what people expected. The kid is a rookie QB, basically has zero run game with another rookie and played well. He gets a B. Had poise and made good throws. I'm not going to say it was equal to Romo because Romo opens things up vs Ds but QB was NOT the issue today
