What were your impressions of Prescott

I think we agree that a 4th round pick should never throw the ball 45 times with this line. I think he played well with what he was given.

It's hard to argue with that. Frankly Romo shouldn't have to throw 45 times in a game, much less a 4th round rookie.

A 69.4 passer rating on the stat sheet is not going to jump out at you, but Prescott played really well for a rookie today and sold me as our QB of the future. He looked pretty poised and, most importantly, did not turn the ball over. This is his first game as a starter and he passed the test against a tough division rival. His deep ball had good touch and he was just barely off on some throws to Witten. He will only continue to get better. The preseason was not a fluke and he is not going to regress.

Let me repeat, and people slow like you need to understand... AT LEAST DAK CAN FINISH A GAME! Romo was given 10-12 years and has accomplished absolutely NOTHING. Dak has been given one game and was a few dropped passes from doing the best thing on rookie opening day since Staubach.

Jerry Jones just said he was extremely impressed with Dak tonight. Fortunately, his opinion means far more than you or I.
1) No reason to call people slow
2) Be happy about Dak, but he didn't finish the game and Romo is/was a really special quarterback

Impressive in the sense it was his first game but not much else other than that. He's got limitations to his game that I don't know will ever not be an issue. The reason why we couldn't run the ball was because Dak couldn't throw the ball down the field. You can chalk it up now as a rookie and that's okay but he wasn't very good at in college either.

Stupid comment. Plain stupid.

Beasley catches that ball they win this game or do we only point out drops when defenders drop inti's?

Hard to judge when he had 3 TD passes dropped. Cole on his first ever NFL drive. Dez dropped 2 in the endzone. Dak easily played good enough to win.

Also hard to judge with how this staff treated QBs other than Romo last season. Which is what he is.

This sim the crux of it. Dez has to be better. Dak did a solid job for a rookie, but veteran players have to play to their potential to cover some of the youth.

For a rookie QB taking on a hell of a DC and an amazing front-four, I thought he played about as well as can be expected.

Led the team to points on their first 4 possessions. Didn't have a TD but didn't have a TO either. Had uncanny accuracy and poise in the first half but seemed to struggle in the 2nd half. Will have to work on defensive adjustments. Showed good legs. Would like to see him use them more. Noticed 2 plays where he could have run for 10 easily while looking for the open receiver. The game didn't look too big for him as a rook. Didn't freak under pressure but his ball seems to sail when back-peddling. All in all I couldn't be more pleased with his performance. He still has a lot to learn but I like what I'm seeing so far and the arrow is pointing up.

Honestly I cant believe the negative feel of this thread. Dak was not the reason we lost today. I'm very pleased with his play. He nearly put us in a chance for a game winning field goal. He is a RoOKIE!! Going up against a veteran QB with 2 super bowl wins and 200 million defense. People are in a negative mood because of the loss, I get that. But Dak is cool, protects the ball and I look forward to when he gets more experience to make those 20 yd throws to receivers. Our vaunted offensive line is overrated. Did Dak allow the play clock to run out? Did he make any bone headed picks?

I feel very comfortable with Dak at QB. We would have won today if we played the Browns like Wentz did.

Oh one more thing, what is the deal with Dez and the catches he makes? Why do they always have to be sideline, reviewable, complicated passes?? I guess that's more of a coaching thing.
It's because he can't get open...

Overall he played well, made some typical rookie mistakes, we hesistant at times, was surprised he didn't look to run it more, but I don't put this loss on him.

Who spent 170 million in the off-season on defense, two of which wrecked our OL
Didn't we spend a considerable amount of time making fun of the "Dream Team" in Philly when they spent all of that money a while back in the offseason?

I don't care what you spend, you don't go from last to first in one season on defense. Watch NO plow through this group next week.

I'd have to see the tape but I didn't like that he wasn't challenging the defense just all short throws
He threw the ball down field a few times. I agree he needs to push the ball more but I feel that's on coaches play calling

I do kind of hope he keeps playing the same way, if only so his detractors can use the nickname "Dink Dunk Dak."
