What were your impressions of Prescott

Like a few others have stated, I'm suprised at the negativity in the thread as well. I thought Dak did great in his first NFL start given how the game unfolded. His teammates needed to give him their all to help the rookie out and everybody just came out flat today. I thought he looked very poised, made some good throws, and did quite a few things well. Sure, he made some errant throws but he will learn. I'm sure the coaches have his hands tied a bit too with the playcalling.

In fact, outside Dak, I don't know if there was a bright spot. Running game sucked. Defense sucked. Wide receivers sucked. Coaching sucked. Shall I go on? lol

Dan Bailey.

Carr got a pick. And we should treasure that because it's like seeing a unicorn.

Funny since you seemed to be able to anoint him as Romo's (not future but now) replacement after a couple preseason games.
I think he has shown enough in preseason and in the game today that he has a chance to replace Romo eventually, i didnt come away from this game thinking he isnt an NFL QB.

Didn't Romo make the Pro Bowl 3 of his first 4 years? What was so hard to watch?
And there's not going to be 8 games. Prescott will be marching back to the bench in early October.
lol. The games that counted! The pro bowl is more a popularity contest than anything else since a third of the vote is from fans.

I thought Garrett's gameplan was smart. Dak kept it ultra conservative and took what the defense gave him. This limited NYG time of possession to mask the Cowboys defense and also limited potential mistakes by the Cowboys offense.

Games can sometimes be won or lost on a few key plays. Not trying to pin this on any one player, but if Dez holds on or if Beasley catches an easy TD, we'd all be thrilled right now. They didn't however and it is time to move on to the next one.

For those wanting to open it up on offense, do we really want to try to get into shootouts with teams? Im not so sure with this defense. I mean that out of total respect.

That Romo is really elite. No way in hell we lose that game if Romo is playing today. Not bashing Dak at all, but he still has quite a bit to learn. Romo would've had a 350 yard, three touchdown day.

Absolutely right. If the Giants tried to load up against the run with Romo in there, he would have torched them all damn day. That's the difference between a rookie and one of the best QBs in the league though. It doesn't mean Dak isn't going to be good in the future, but he's a rookie and he wasn't even supposed to sniff the field for at least a year and most likely 2 years.

Instant sensation who cannot win a playoff game. Much less rarely get there.

Today he cannot even finish a game. He's pointless to discuss at this point.

He's our starting QB the nanosecond he is healthy. So, he's not pointless to discuss.

The difference was in the conservative play calling. With Romo, they wouldnt call the game conservative and scared. That is not Daks fault.

But then again, you cant help the team if you are old and brittle and cant stay healthy.

The problem is how long will he be healthy? If we start 2-6 or worse the season's over. Romo couldn't save us last year and he won't this year.

He looked poised. He looked smart. He looked like a leader.

Reading comments from those who are comparing him to Romo at this point in both careers, After one game? Laughable.

Right now If Romo gets healthy he should be the QB just because his experience is invaluable. That being said Dak has the potential to be a really good QB. And if this team ever gets in a huge game with playoff implications or even in a playoff game with Dak as the QB? I have more confidence in Dak leading the team. Just because he's been in huge games with subpar talent surrounding him and played brilliantly. The game never looks to big for him.

The receivers missed a number of throws by Dak. If Williams gets out of bounds, a Bailey attempt at a win would have gone down.

Dak also had to throw away the ball through the game, to keep a sack from killing a drive. Dallas had zero sacks.

Elliott only had around fifty yards rushing...I would also guess they will improve quite a bit on that figure.

No, the team is still growing and made showings as the game developed.

I was wanting to see a tougher run defense up the middle...but the Giants about equaled the total yardage that the Dallas run game amassed.

The team is competitive, and hopefully becomes a tough match up.
