No offense BBgun, but that's borderline creepy. But I guess someone had to ask, because we're all thinking it. :)

Thought that about Skyler too, tho I think Stanbeck will make it. But nothing's a lock.

I'm curious how the guy from the CFL will do.

Stanback has an unusual amount of support in the front office (including Jerry). Stanback also has a couple of built in "excuses" ... he hasn't played much WR before and his foot has slowed his transition.

That makes it extra tough to cut Stanback, because even if he doesn't perform very well in training camp. people will think its because he hasn't had enough time.

And with Parcells gone, Jerry just might have more "input" into roster decisions.

She blew it. I had tickets to the Renaissance Fair and everything. My mom was gonna drop us off. Her loss.

This is a Jerry pick -- and Jerry, he'll keep a guy around for a few years so he doesn't look stupid.

Considering the amount of love showered on him by Jeff Ireland. I'm more convinced that this was more Ireland than Jerry. I agree that Stanbeck is likely to make the cut, but I also believe that anything is possible.

Yeah, this is the sort of thing that concerns me most about Jerry now that Parcells being gone.

Jerry is such an optimistic guy, he's not the best cool objective judge of talent.

If he plays well enough, Jones will keep him.

That is what he does for productive non-injured players.

Besides, Kevin Curtis money is peanuts. Particularly if he may be asked to start, which he easily could be.

This is a big year for him. If he plays well, I don't see any reason to not pay him.
6y32m isn't peanuts. Granted, it's no exorbitant, but for a guy who was #3 up until now, that's a nice payday.

I like Crayton, but I just get a sense he'll be moving on to greener pastures after 07.

...of course you can forget all of that if the Hurd/Austin rumblings are just more Davis-Tucker-Brazzel-Hodge-Chiaverini-Swinton-Rambo-RaWilliams fluff. Crayton has proven enough to get out of the "potential" box.

If Hurd and Austin are actually more of the same empty hype as listed above, then Crayton has a much better chance of sticking around.

btw, writing that list did make me a little sick for second.

1. T.O. (No brainer!)
2. Terry Glenn (No brainer 2)
3. P. Crayton
4. Miles Austin (Will take that next step this year I believe)
5. Sam Hurd (Good hands and pretty good speed)
6. Isiah Stanback (Athletic monster with multiple skills)

I 32nd this motion that this is our corp of WR if we are taken six.

I also believe like some of you that Crayton will not be with Dallas at the end of the yr. I like him but I think he will be asking to much and I do believe we have some very good youngster that only need some playing time to improve.

Anyone have any knowledge of how the guy from the CFL is doing? I cn not remember his name.

Jemel Richardson is the guy from the CFL, from all accounts he's having a solid off season thus far.

I personally wouldn't be heartbroken if Crayton doesn't come back after this season or is even traded before the season starts. It's true he's had some productive games, but he disappears way too often for long stretches. The third receiver needs to also contribute on ST and he's done absolutely nothing for us in the return game.

I agree. I think there's a strong possibility this is Glenn's last season in the league. Considering his knee condition.
I think Crayton is clearly the 3rd best WR on the team and won't be surprised to see him moved over to Glenn's position this year in order to get him on the field when Glenn can't go.
And after this season I can't see Dallas letting Crayton go and having TO, another year older, and some guys with little track record lining up with him. Even if Hurd and/or Austin have good seasons I think Dallas will want to keep Crayton around.

It all depends on our fortunes this year. I believe if we do not do well, one or both of our starting WRs will be gone. Owens or Glenn. Possibly both in a worst case scenario. If we do well, Crayton becomes much more appealing, particularly if he had much to do with our success.

That was not appropriate, nor appreciated.

ditto....

Austin has too much potential to cut right now. If push comes to shove, I think we keep him over Hurd (whom I like as well).

I really do have to agree about Austin, though that would suck if we had to let go of Hurd.... he is going to be a playmaker on this team when TO and Glenn are gone and we are going to need recievers.

Ding Ding Ding.

I get aggravated when I hear "let's get something for him." He's the youngest WR on our team with any meaningful game experience, and has shown flashes of something very good. Why not just re-sign him? Then you get something for him....him.

Tends to happen when Terry Glenn, TO & Witten are generally the four reads before you.

You left out Wayne McGarrity....Just kidding...those names just brought back some tough times though.....Damon Hodge had a pretty good game against the Giants one year...Like 4 rec for 64 yards or something. But he never got a chance after that it seemed...Hey what about Bashir Yamini?
