You left out Wayne McGarrity....Just kidding...those names just brought back some tough times though.....Damon Hodge had a pretty good game against the Giants one year...Like 4 rec for 64 yards or something. But he never got a chance after that it seemed...Hey what about Bashir Yamini?

Please stop it.

I personally wouldn't be heartbroken if Crayton doesn't come back after this season or is even traded before the season starts. It's true he's had some productive games, but he disappears way too often for long stretches. The third receiver needs to also contribute on ST and he's done absolutely nothing for us in the return game.

Only because I think that the only reason he disapears is because of the offensive sets that we run. Bringing in a TE and FB will make him disappear...We didn't run 3-wides enough last year...

I agree with this list. However, I've read where the staff is very pleased with what they've seen out of Jamel Richardson from the CFL. I also think Jerheme Urban might have a shot. He played pretty well for Seattle before he got hurt a couple of years ago. Still, I've got to go with the 6 listed above at this point.

You are thinking of Jason Tucker when he had, IIRC, a top 5 yards from scrimmage performance(team) against the Giants? Including like a 90 yd td reception. And several long kick returns.
I hate to see Tucker get lumped in with some of those stiffs since he had the skills, and was becoming a go to guy for Aikman that season, but his body wouldn't hold up.
I think it was a broken bone in his foot that ended his NFL days, not a lack of talent.

Thing is the bulk of those receivers listed all ended up in the CFL. It was like Dallas North at one point.

i have a feeling that Austin wont make the team and Rector and Richardson will be fighting it out.

I hope you are wrong.... Austin reminds me of Tyrone Calico; a player with immense physical ability, but if he can't harness it, he won't really amount to much... I say give him this one more year and lets see how he does next offseason... I think he can wow us when we start having some real competition for the 1, 2, and 3 spots when TO and Glenn/ one of them leave.

I love that we have all these huge targets at wide reciever... Garrett is going to love them in this timing offense as well me thinks...

By the way is Garretts' offense similar to a WC offense? If so, then you would need recievers like Austin and Hurd on this roster for sure.

This is a Jerry pick -- and Jerry, he'll keep a guy around for a few years so he doesn't look stupid.
That's a strange comment. This was absolutely 100% nothing but Jeff Ireland. The guy was slobbering all over himself over Stanback. He completely tied his reputation to this guy.

But the kicker for me is that they knew about the injury and still drafted him. So they're not exactly expecting him to be an immediate impact guy.

I think he's as much a lock as any of the draftees.

I don't even want to ask what you think will happen to Crayton.

Stanback is close to a lock, even if he doesn't play particularly well.

Stanback may not make it as a receiver, but simply as a special teamer, which he'll have to do anyway. Stanback could take the place of a DB on special teams.

eessh....Yamini. Forgot about him. McGarity? I actually never had any hopes for him for some reason...same boat as Mar-Tay Jenkins to me.

Crayton is in an interesting position right now though. I actually think he's sort of on the verge, which means that if we're not ready to say goodbye to one of our top two (after 07 of course) Crayton is going to want to go somewhere where he can be a #2.

Kinda getting pushed from both sides. TO and Terry on one side and the young'uns on the other.

I totally agree that this was all Jeff Ireland's pick. Also from what I have read there were alot of other teams slobbering over him so that is why he will make the 53 man squad in some capacity. Ireland can not let him go to the Practice Squad and get plucked away. I guess he will be a STmer until they can work him in the recieving scheme.

It doesn't matter if it was Ireland or Jerry. Do you think the general NFL fanbase knows the difference? That's who he's concerned will think he's stupid.

Ah...so we'll not see any of our draftees cut for the next 3-4 years. Gotcha.

I think think the point is, Steinback was NOT a Jerry pick, as you suggested he was. Jerry wants to look like a football genius, yes, but I'm positive that he worries about winning and many other things a heck of a lot more than how he'll be perceived if a player selected in the fourth round gets cut.

This was a "look how smart we are pick" -- He gets 3 years minimum. Any pick like this that is widely criticized is one that Jerry gives the player a long time to work out.
