What would you do with Spencer?

several factors. do we resign selvie? does he play better as the season goes on? what will he costs? as of now unless he really comes on like melton has i don't think he gets more than an offer to camp

Dude is done, he is a shell of his former self.

Don't feel to bad for him fellas, he has made right at $25 million the past 3 seasons

no. a midround draft pick that is cheaper and has more upside can do what spencer has not done. I am really disappointed in spencer I thought he might help but really he has kept us from adding a young player to the roster who might have played better.

I also would not resign selvie he also has been a big disappointment. the front office really needs to pay attention in the draft next year and get some good young players to build this defense for the future. the older veterans are starting to wear down and I have a bad feeling that this is going to be a big problem in last five games.

Time to let him go this offseason.

He's not making any impact plays, but then again, just starting and playing adequate contain is a win for him this season given the injury status that cost him all of camp and most of the season.

The good:

The bad:

Will be 31.
Has never played in the 4-3.
Coming off microfracture surgery.
Hasn't done jack this season.
Likely done.

The ugly:

Sam Cassell.
LOL is he still coaching? At least he has a couple of rings

Yeah. Let's not get hasty here, gentlemen.

First thing, do we still have George Selvie?

Spencer, Carter and Carr.. If we can upgrade these positions the defense can be scary..

We don't need to upgrade Carter. We just need to get Lee and Durant back and the LBers will be set. And I don't mind Carr as long as he's not covering the other team's best receiver.

Let him go.

If he doesn't sign elsewhere.

Bring him in for training camp to see what he's got left.

I think he goes to a 3-4 team though.

Talk to me after our next mobile QB. You may change your mind. He's a situational end. Dallas gets a pure pass rusher and Spencer is an asset in rotation. JMO, of course.

Some of you never learn. He's coming off major surgery. We need DEs. If he will sign a make good contract then let him compete next year. I would cut him before the first game unless he's playing well.

Agreed.

I've watched Spencer play and he hasn't been a "car-wreck" out there.

I'd rather have him than Selvie.

Spencer isn't going to be expensive to resign IF the Cowboys choose too.

I could see the top-4 DE's being this group:

Mincey
Lawrence
Rookie
Spencer

Maybe Gardener is the 5th DE.
