Nelson is that dude but he isn't faster than Dez. I don't care what the combine says

OP could not have possibly watched Jordy Nelson play with any regularity and asked that. I would love to have him on the Dallas Cowboys. He is a fantastic Wide-Receiver.

I don't care what he did in college. I care about what he's doing now in the NFL, he doesn't run the best routes and most of his receptions happen in the red zone. He is having trouble taking snaps from a 32 year old TE. You can say because it's Witten, and that's probably partly true, but I have to believe if Escobar was exceeding, he'd be on the field more for passing plays.

So, sorry that I'm not as confident as you in a guy who only has 18 receptions in two years.

What?
You don't think he runs good ro
Did I imagine a stat that Williams had zero drops this year?

He's had a few, yes. That writer from GB was mistaken.

McGinn (the write from GB) referenced STATS, Inc as his source on drops.

I remember hearing about STATS more a long time ago. I didn't think they were relevant anymore.

Anybody know anything about STATS, Inc?

D. Jackson, Julio Jones, TY Hilton, Dez, Calvin, AJ Green.

You think D Jackson and TY Hilton are better than Jordy Nelson?
I guess you're entitled to an opinion.....you would for sure be in the minority though.
Maybe sub in Antonio Brown and D Thomas to get a slightly better argument.

That is interesting that he feels that was considering that Jackson and TY Hilton are considered some of the best deep threats in the league, but Nelson leads the league in 50+ yard touchdown receptions since 2010

No, I don't. He doesn't have the speed of a top-end TE, so he'll have to excel in running great routes like Witten. This is why we drafted Escobar, to be a Witten clone and his replacement. Sure, he seems to be a red zone threat, and if that's all we brought him in for, great. But we spent a second round pick on this guy, he has to start doing more than what he's doing now. 18 receptions is not enough. I say give him next year to see if he can take snaps from Witten or let him go, but I'm certainly not against finding a replacement in the draft this year.

Sorry, I meant to delete that....thought I did. At the time I thought that was about Jordy Nelson and read the preceding post and realized it had skipped over to Escobar. Deleted it, but I guess not all the way...oops.
My bad.
And I agree, btw.

And yes, I'm among the group who was baffled by the Escobar pick in the first place. Tons of really good players that could have helped us for years to come and right away.

I like Jordy. He's very much a beast and any fan poo-poo'ing his ability obviously don't watch him enough to have an informed opinion.

Man, if he was in a Cowboys uni....whoo, it would be like watching Madden. lol

Alas, he's not and the 'boys will need to be very disciplined ball against him. No YAC allowed.

Last yr dallas held him to 5-61 and 1 td. With a very bad defense. The run game is what killed dallas def. Granted they didnt have rodgers. But rodgers isnt going to be 100% this game.

That game last year means almost nothing. Two very different teams.

The Cowboys don't look anything like last year's team -- new coordinators, an incredible running game, etc. Cowboys also are much less injured

Packers played that game without Rodgers, Cobb, Finley, Bulaga on offense. At one point last year I thought the Packers were fielding the WORST team in the NFL based on their roster with injuries.

Exactly both had big problems. wouldnt you agree Calvin is a better WR? he was taken out of the game. See no difference this game.
