Catch Rates:
Catch Rate
Dez 64%
T. Williams 58%

Some other #2 WRs:
Rueben Randle 55%
Alshon Jeffery 58%
J. Kearse (Seattle) 57%

I'm surprised Jeffery's number was that good. It almost seemed as if he dropped a dozen passes in the last game of the season.

Other than having a great QB to get him the ball I don't understand why is considered a top tier WR. He has always reminded me of a Joe Jurevicius type but only slightly better.
Your thoughts?

He's a beast.. That's my thoughts.

Did I imagine a stat that Williams had zero drops this year?

Even with Matt Flynn last season vs the Cowboys Nelson put up 5 catches for 61 yards and a TD. Pair him with Rodgers and he's a huge down the field threat. This season he's a had TD catches of 80, 66, 59, 73 and 60 yards. He's going to be a real challenge for the Cowboys weak secondary that's given up some big plays.

Big, strong, fast, quick.

This. Among the best deep threat guys in the game, and yeah, it doesn't hurt that he has a QB who hits him in stride.

He's also real good at working the sideline.

Mostly Slot WR.
JJ Watt is playing a position not dominated by white guys these days and he surely isn't underrated. You get an anonymous poster asking an uniformed question about Jordy Nelson and he's suddenly underrated? Underrated by who? Based off the replies posted in this thread he is far from underrated.

Who said I was making excuses? I'm saying that he is deceptively fast and that he's numbers in his combine doesn't reflect how great he is. He did run a 4.5 very similar to Dez's numbers which isn't really reflective of how fast on how he plays.
Thus I consider him like a modern day Steve Largent. Which is why I stated he is not that fast. Maybe I should retract that and state that he is deceptively fast which I really wanted to emphasize in the first place.

But I do agree with you about him. I think he is a great athlete. Don't get to hung up by me saying that he isn't fast. I just meant to say that he has deceptive speed regardless of his 4.5 combine speed time.

Understood.

Always tough to fully understand people on message boards.

Really good receiver. Big and fast. Also a product of the system and a great qb. Not a freak like dez though slightly faster.

I dont think hes a number one on the jets. I didnt hear anything about him all season. Only good because he had manning. Hes average.

He may be average, but that wasn't the question. He is the Jets #1 wide receiver. It's the Jets, so it isn't surprising that you didn't hear anything about him this season. He led the Jets in receiving. He had 74 receptions, 962 yards and 5 TDs. The next closest for the Jets were Jace Amaro with 38 receptions, 345 yards and 2 TDs and Jeremy Kerley with 38 receptions, 409 yards and 1 TD. Percy Harvin was next with 29 catches, 350 yards and 1 TD.

Nelson is very good. Good size, excellent after the catch. The Packers have let some good receivers go over the years - Greg Jennings, James Jones - but held onto Jordy Nelson. That should tell you something.
