What's the one thing you know for sure will change when Stephen takes over for Jerry?

Jerry stops doing interviews.

this! Jerry needs stop opening his pie hole, and needs to listen to his football people. I think Stephen will do less coach talk crap and more listening to his football people.

Jerry is 72 years old for starters. I don't believe anyone actually expects to make it to 100. I'm am more than confident that Stephen at 50 is ready to go and has already been putting his fingers in the sugar bowl. You never see one without the other in most cases other than media situations. Stephen doesn't seem to like the cameras as much as Jerry.

Grooming and ready to jump in IF HE HAD TO... is one thing. Too keep in family control thing.

Very different than be in charge or mostly in charge or whatever.

Either way I respect your opinion. Just don't think it's even close.

Jerry "listens". Just to some of the wrong ones. One thing I do hope with Stephen Jones is less input from the likes of Larry Lacewell, Barry Switzer, etc. and more trust and input from the scouting department and staff that is around the organization and team every single day.

The media will want Jr. to become an even more entitled version of Jerry without the business chops, that's their best TMZ angle. Stephen could stop all that by hiring an accomplished arms-length GM and then recede into the background like any other respectable owner.

Just curious how you think the changing of the guards will be?

me personally...no more sideline visits. Rule #1...lol

The shiny objects or the "big splash" will not be so overwhelmingly appealing anymore.

Example.
If last year at Valley Ranch on draft day there were 11 out of 12 people that wanted either Zach Martin, a trade down, or a defensive player (and not Manziel), in the post Jerry era it would be 12 out of 12
:D

I think Stephan is less emotional . In recent years we've been drafting pretty well , I think Stephen in his dad's ear has helped . The Claiborne pick was all Rob Ryan that's why he was fired . Besides that it's been pretty good .

Any reference on Ryans involvement with Claiborne. Hadn't heard about or seen that anywhere.

I question that. He is just as wrapped up in the operation as his father was when he started out. There might be some pragmatic differences in how he looks at things, but he is not going relinquish the pretend part-time GM role that Jerry Jones has made an integral part of how the operation is run.

I think he is painfully aware of how the media views his father and his sister Charlotte has talked about how they listen to the Jerry impersonations on the Ticket, them drafting O-line so high recently has shown a change of philosophy. I just dont see him trying to be as involved with the decisions as Jerry, but thats more calling JJ meddling and interfering than praising Steo.

Edit: Also less access to their draft board.

Yeah, I just think he does a lot more than is lead on and that most believe. Hell, Jerry bought the Cowboys when he was 47 (3 years younger than Stephen is now) and Stephen really has a head start on the How to part than Jerry did. Granted, it's a different league now.

The media circus will be overwhelming because the only way the Jerry steps down is if he commits a Donald Sterling-like stunt, where public outcry will force the NFL to strip him of his ownership. Unless of course Jerry passes, then it should be back to business as usual, with Stephen playing Jerry's role. I also think that Jerry's princess will have a larger role in the running the team, and I'm don't know if that is good or bad.

Nobody knows how Stephen will run things once he has assumed the reins of this team. I don't know, you don't know and I seriously doubt if Stephen even knows himself. Things ebb and flow, change and/or stay the same with the passage of time and events. I do believe Stephen is somewhat more level-headed than his dad and more than likely, less prone to making impulsive decisions. It remains to be seen if he'll hire a GM, though.

Hopefully Stephen does a better job than Al Davis's Son

People credit Stephen for the direction the team is heading. Jerry Jones has to be on board with what hid kid is doing first. Let's give Jerry some credit.

When Stephen made the secret sauce comment I thought he was an idiot. Him sucking his gut in during the Bears game hasn't done anything to change that, but it shows he is at least aware/concerned with public opinion. I can see him hiring a proper GM.

Are you british?

I think we'll probably hire a GM and will be much more low key as an organization. You're probably still going to hear Stephen do interviews and express his opinions on players and subjects like Jerry does and who is healthy and who is not. But, there's a great disdain for Jerry and ESPN and the other media outlets know he's a lightning rod for controversy which benefits them. I think a lot of things stay the same, but you're just not going to get a Johnny Manziel type of situation even if Stephen really wants a player like Manziel because the media just won't care as much to report it.

YR

That would be refreshing, I'm sick to death of all the TMZ nonsense jerri seems to love, having the focus be about football, football and winning football would be awesome
