What's the story on Dak Prescott?

Prescott is same height and weight as Romo is.

Right, as I said, he is 6'2 and not the same as Wilson size wise, I just think the Cowboys look at him through that lens...a college gamer who could make things out of nothing at times...and they are enamored with it. I think that is why Jerry liked Johnny Football. I think the Cowboys try to trend with some of these picks vs thinking it through.

I really don't know much about him. Who has watched him play? Do you want him here? Where is he drafted? Please share your thoughts!

I've watched all available Draft Breakdown videos. I would be happy with him here.

Pros: strong, tough, doesn't get rattled when hit, dealt with a really bad offensive line. Accurate on short and intermediate passes, fairly accurate down the field as well and has the arm strength but didn't get a chance to make the throws due to horrific offensive line play; throws really well on the move but is a pass-first guy - always looking to make the play with his arm; smart, charismatic, great football IQ, natural leader; doesn't throw interceptions, doesn't fumble

Cons: hasn't really shown the deep passing ability that NFL teams desire, DUI obviously, footwork is a work in progress -- stands flat footed in the pocket too often and sometimes makes cross-body throws without a solid/balanced base leading to high passes

Where Would I Select Him? Either in the 3rd or 4th round. I think in the right situation where he isn't asked to do too much (like Russell Wilson was in Seattle) he can develop nicely in two to three seasons to be a leader and a player that is dynamic enough to keep a defense on its toes. Similar to Wilson or other game manager types, he's not going to beat you throwing 48/52 for 400+ early in his career, but he's the kind of guy you want throwing 25-35 passes a game and not turning the ball over.

I think regarding Manziel, pretty much everyone thought it through in Dallas except Jerry.

Dak Attack would be a pretty cool catch phrase, unless that stands for some weird put-down to the state of North Dakota that I am unaware of.

At least he knows what Romo feels like 3 times a game

Is that video legit? The quality isn't that good.

Dak doesn't appear to be ready to play in the NFL, so I'm not sure where he would fit in. We would still need a backup and Kellen Moore would have to go, I guess, unless Kellen Moore is the backup.

I think Kellen Moore is the back-up, no one now that Goff/Wentz are gone is Garrett going to allow to come in here and be #2 from this draft class. Unless a veteran is cut, there is no one out there that looks like they will bring in.

Fingers crossed on a healthy Romo in 2016.

my thoughts: why waste middle round draft pick if your not serious about addressing QB.

This.

I am all for giving him a shot (he is said to have some potential) but not with the first three picks which could potentially result in immediate starters. Take him with one of the 4th-round picks if he is still there.

The same reason you waste a middle-round draft pick on any other position, because you hope that the player will prove he was worth a first-round pick.

How many third- and fourth-round picks have we blown trying to find linemen or linebackers or defensive backs?

Quarterbacks are even tougher to find because there are usually fewer of them worth taking, but that doesn't mean that you quit looking.

I heard he took an entire building hostage on Christmas until Bruce Willis pushed him off the roof.

That's not even close to the truth. Prescott was trying to steal Willis' wife's watch while dangling from Nakatomi Plaza and it wasn't the roof, but was extremely high. Quit spreading lies.

He got better.

What are you guys even talking about? Do you have access to some sort of history of arrests that no one else has for him or just talking nonsense?

To me, Prescott is a sleeper in this draft. He has steadily progressed and is known for his leadership. He was a chucker just a couple of years ago, but last year he showed some real progress as a passer.

I don't know if I'd have faith in him as the heir apparent, but there's plenty to like. The DUI is a concern as well, of course.

There's a YouTube video from this past spring break and he's getting into a fist fight at a beach in Miami....

Yup. Kid can't stay out of trouble and I think he's too much of a project on the field

No clue why are coaches even sniffed his way

Because they're addicted to cheap thrills, "too good to be true" deals, and bonus keychains for calling within 10 minutes.

Dak Prescott appears talented enough to serve Dallas as a capable backup, if not an eventual starter, for a long time. He's generally considered to be of good character and served as an exceptional leader in college. The Cowboys are unquestionably interested in him, judging from the pre-draft attention they've given him. Don't be surprised if he's destined to be a Cowboy.

Looks like talked tough to the wrong clique, w the jock shuffle back like he's still in it:oops: Time to go home ASAP. That's college tough guy BS though and shouldn't be a problem. Pass on the 2nd tier prospects.
