Just curious what y'all think. I'm all for getting the best players for your system on the field.

At this point, I think it's pretty clear Flournoy is developing and has a much higher ceiling than Tolbert.

As much as it hurts, I think you have to give Flournoy the nod at WR3 on the depth chart. He has earned it.

Personally if Lamb and Turpin both return this week I would be very tempted to just cut Tolbert. The fact the he played 91% of the offensive snaps last week is concerning though and suggests he is still going to be in the WR3 mix.

Lamb, Pickens, Ferg, RB will be the top for in targets.

When the offense goes 3 wide it is Tolbert, Flournoy, Mingo, Turpin in any order.

But I'd like to see Flournoy get the most targets from that group.
I don't know why people are so overly focused on that you're right there's only so many targets those guys are not gonna have the games they had now that the lineup is gonna be back full.

Who was too worried about like there's a whole post about Blue not doing this and that who cares our team looked like crap on defense and until that's fixed it probably doesn't matter but when you're talking about your starting rotation you're right that's where all the targets are going They're going to be picking up scraps but I bet Turpin is used more than anyone else because he's a Swiss Army knife he we miss his speed and also field position when he's returned being a returner.. So he will get even more snaps on offense because he's going to be more critical in the game...

Flo is more like Ced wilson right now he's going to have to wait his turn... Tammy gets in the game make some big plays and next year you might be consider our number two if you keep progressing like Miles Austin took three years to get where he was and we may lose George Pickens because he's not gonna want number two money we're gonna draft another wide receiver in the first three rounds But that will be his opportunity he needs to blow up in the preseason training camp and practices he needs to be more than just good he needs to be spectacular and get the coaches attention.... Yes he had one good Grant game but so did Ced Wilson I don't know how many good games he had.. But he never became a starter so everyone's overrating some of these players right now let's see what he does more we need to see more...

Flour is big, fast and agile. That dude has earned the 3rd receiver role. I’d sprinkle in Turp when needed.
That's the thing we already have that in George Pickens and we already have a number one in land that can actually do it all but what we don't have is speed that kind of speed So we will see Turpin get more of those I know people don't want to say that because they really in love with Flo right now.. He has deserved more snaps but that's not how this offense is set up you already have two big boys at receiver you already have your security blanket at tight end you're going to dump balls down to your running back there aren't very many left to go I mean who where are all these snaps coming from?

Right now he Ced wilson 2.0.. He becomes more than that and he keeps showing out then he eventually will take over a spot but he won't get that many opportunities because of all that above we already have our offense filled out..

No you don't think so but Turpin is more valuable to our offense and special teams already have a player like him who's better in George Pickens.. that's what we call redundancy. let's say open this offense up and ignore the run game and start going with four wide receiver sets he's going to have to wait his turn....

Turpin looks like he breathes a sigh of relief every time he gets up from a tackle

I think you absolutely wanna use flournoy to fill in the gaps of the offense. Tough yardage

You generally target whoever gets open.

I get what you're saying though, as far as scheme and design. But I also think that Flournoy has established himself as the guy amongst the receivers you mention. And it's not really close.

Flournoy has WR1 potential.

He obviously has the athleticism. My worry with him was whether he could make the jump from SEMO to the NFL.

Junior Adams has been great for him, I think.

The is No. Tolbert was the starter vs the Panthers when Flournoy should've been. These coaches are stubborn to a fault. Tolbert is a progress stopper at this point.

We should trade for another #1 receiver - maybe the Bengals will trade Chase for the 2 #1 picks we got from GB. After that last drive with negative yards it's clear that our coach killer QB needs another weapon. Maybe two just to be sure.

I wouldn’t cut him but I’d trade him as well as mazi
I'd love if they could get something for these guys, I'm just skeptical anyone would give up even a late pick. Being higher round draft picks their salary alone probably outweigh any trade value they would have. I think Tolbert still has around 2.5m coming to him this year. Why would a GM take on the salary and give up a late pick when he can just go grab a JAG off a practice squad for a couple hundred K and keep his pick?

As much as it hurts? I'd gladly do it. Never cared for Tolbert. Bright spots here and there but nothing special. Try to upgrade.

Well it aint up to me so no. Tolbert will continue to get the bulk of the snaps, why because GM Jerry hates wasting draft picks even if the undrafted is better.

No ....... Jerry will push one his pet cats ....... probably Mingo.
True, and Stephen said he (and Carson) will be activated this week. I wouldn't be surprised if Flournoy actually loses snaps to Mingo the next few weeks.

It's a logjam of mediocrity with him and Tolbert. And another reason that trade Jerry made for Mingo was so brain dead. Just flushed a fourth rounder down the toilet.
