When the Cowboys start slow and the excuse is that Dak is just finding his rhythm

IMHO big time sports has moved beyond this. Dak is not just our QB. He is his own brand. He is his own business. He is his own entity with his own objectives and his own agenda as he should. He makes 40 million per year. There is no reason to worry about winning. All he should care about is maximizing earnings. Just like D Flaw did. Just like Jaylon did. Just like Zeke did. Just like Diggs is doing now.

Cheering for the players no matter what feels like amateur athletics to me. Competitors doing every thin they can in pursuit of excellence I can buy into that. Jerry and his cast of clowns trying to make as much money as they can doing as little as they can gets pretty old pretty quick.
There are 16 QBs that make 30M per year or more. Does this go for all of them? Or just Dak?

That is medically not true.

A doctor you are not. Thats for sure
In college, I had my left foot blow out in a PE class basketball game getting some conditioning in a linebacker coach class, going up all alone on a rebound and landing awkwardly. It swole up about five to six inches all around and knocked me out for that season. Two weeks prior to Fall Practices...

Zeke gave everything he had for this team. Did every single thing we asked him to do. No other super star rb blocked as much as him, played as injured....played freakin' center/entire o-line really.

We...ruined him.

And this is what he gets for it.

Over paid and fat is what he was. We should have never drafted him. Waste of a pick. And then make him the highest paid RB. That was stupid.

I think that after his new contract, Zeke Elliott rode his own checkbook and stepped back on his own commitments. He didn't commit to continuing his own top shelf talents or seeing he achieved at entry levels. 'He got lazy and content.'

True, and recovery is always extensive and requires strong commitment and running the course. Takes time, for sure.

who cares what Reid does. If Mahomes got hurt, hed be called the worst coach in NFL history. You think it is Reid making that decision? i can promise you it is Mahomes telling him he wants in.
A pro Cowboys stance...agreed!

Myself, on Andy Reid, I wouldn't rush to sign up anyone who he just released...his rosters are really good at present. He has paid the time along the sidelines price for the depth of his knowledge. His teams show just that.

The guy coached for 57 years with no title until his Golden Goose showed up..... sounds a lot like a guy in New England.

Three Super Bowls; 2 Lombadis; and he was his own guide for the course. Want to mention numbers of playoffs and win totals in comparison as well?

He has paid the price as well is damn good at it now.

We can argue this all day long. Lets see.... you ready????? Here is a list of these all time "Great coaches," that quickly became very avg.

Sean Payton.... great coach and as soon as Brees retired, Payton needed to leave the Saints because he was burned out......lol..... he was quickly regenerated and retured to coaching real quick in Denver.
Mike Tomlin.... kicking ***, 2 sb appearances, 1 win... perennial AFC title contender. His HOF qb got old and retired and Tomlin sucked real fast (if we are judging him like most other coaches).
Andy reid..... 47 years coaching, zero SB wins, he lands the Golden Goose, the clear cut best QB in the NFL and he has been the man ever since. 6 years in KC without the Golden Goose and he was nothing more than respectable.... 2 total playoff wins. Golden Goose shows up and BAM... hes now an all time great!!!!!!!
Billy Boy Bellichek, the consensus greatest coach that ever laced em up. SB winner winner chicken dinner... life was good, always in the hunt................then the Golden Goose went away and in the 3 seasons without his golden goose he is a mediocre 25-25 with ZERO playoff wins and none in the near future.
Look at the Bronco pre manning and after manning. Coach made zero difference.

Colts with manning without manning.... amazing how quickly the coach stunk. The Colts were a model franchise that all should follow........ bahahahahahhahaahhahaahhahaha, just like the "Patriot Way." Its not looking so good right now.

I can keep going..... but you get the point.

Not really on target at all...you don't approach valid as well as good leadership in the target of your post.

1998 - Philadelphia, league worse 5-11

from there:

11-5 Divisional Game
11-5 NFC Championship
12-4 NFC Championship
12-4 NFC Championship
13-3 Super Bowl

2005 6-10

from there:

10-6 Divisional Game
8-8
9-6 NFC Championship
11-5 Playoffs
10-6 Playoffs

Then with Kansas City:

11-5 Playoffs
9-7
11-5 Divisional Game
12-4 Divisional Game
10-6 Playoffs
12-4 AFC Championship Game
12-4 Super Bowl Lombardi
14-2 Super Bowl
12-5 AFC Championship Game
14-3 Super Bowl Lombardi

An abstract comparison really is on topic presented?

No, yours is not...nor is a head for a coaching tree implied.

Now make football sense not grown on Jack's beanstalk.

Tom Landry didn't even have success like that ... and Jimmy Johnson no where belongs on the same wall as Reid's picture. Cowboy or not!!

and after 1998 they drafted McNabb.... then the wins came you can put up all you want..... it is simple. With a HOF caliber qb, those coaches can win the big one. Without a HOF type QB, they cant win the big one... same as every other HC in the NFL.

No, one can rooty toot toot all one wishes, it's the growth of a team and Andy Reid has been top of that growth.

Don't throw in a fan bias as valid Cowboy discussion...he also gambled mightily on his current quarterback and made that work as well.

Everyone crying about money... My question is, does it make the team better and give you depth for 21 games?

If so, I say you have to consider. Under the right circumstances.

There was not enough of a running game last year in game 1. And our WRs really sucked. Maybe Moore was trying to get Houston in a rhythm, but the playcalling failed in part because his WRs weren't up to speed. Zeke also sat on the sideline with his feed me frown.

Still, I'm not going to panic if we lose game 1.

As far as Dak playing in the PS, it's one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't issues, IMO. I see both points here. Same reason I don't do parties.
