Yea I know, but I was insinuating that Harbaugh would have Romo on a tight leash and would have just given Romo A Power O run. No options.

BTW:

Again you are ignoring that Linehan not Garrett calls the plays. You know why? The owner wants it that way.

So explain to me again how Jim Harbaugh would have changed that dynamic in any way? It's a fantasy.

I'd be pretty comfortable playing this team again later in the season, all things considered.

So would I. I want to collect losses for draft positioning and a culture change at Valley Ranch.

Your right, I'm just speculating about Harbaugh, but my bets are he wouldn't be the push over that JG is.

I'd say 'don't hold your breath' on the culture change bit, but, truth be told, I might prefer you actually do hold your breath for that one, Risen. Good luck with that. :)

What? Wins and losses mean every thing thing no matter when they happen.

So wait a minute, you are telling me a loss on the first sunday of the season is the same as a loss the first sunday in december?

You not telling me that are you?

I'm telling you every game counts. We are now 0-1. 15 games left. 0-2 next week certainly doesn't move any team closer to the playoffs.
I thought that was the purpose of playing.

And I am telling you that it's still summer time and that it's too early to even think about playoffs. Do you realize that half of the league is still alive for a playoff spot the first sunday in November? So if that's the case why are you bent out of shape over a week one loss?

Carr and Claibourne look terrible right now

I was flabbergasted at just how poorly they BOTH played. Played off way too far and couldn't tackle for squat. Neither of them looked like they cared much what happened today.

And HOW MUCH MONEY are we paying these two? I think they'd be sitting the bench for half the other team in the league right now.

And we can go on and have a decent run miss the playoffs by one game. This could be that game.

I disagree

Last year late in the season when we lost that big lead to the packers, that was the game that made us miss the playoffs. That's what I mean, nothing matters until after halloween

Then games shouldn't count until holloween you win.

you will see that

1. Defense held the Niners offense to zero pts in second half

2. Offense ended the day on a good note by putting an effective drive together and getting another TD

So what looked like was going to be a 51-3 game 2 hours ago only turned out to be 28-17 which is a good thing headed into next week. After a loss, if the defense and offense ended on a good note, then that should make us all feel good going into next week. Anyone agree?

How are people taking this seriously? Game was decided. 49ers ran clock, played conservative and won game. When it counted we got pantsed. There was nothing that positive except we should run 90% of time. It's a repeat of every year. BTW you start 0-1 you have 25% chance of playoffs according to recent stats. I say this every year but protecting the ball, smart football is coached. It's not magic luck. We have Groundhog Day with this group

If Romo plays better the team will do better. I find it hard to believe this is the Romo we will get all season.

even if we won today it still would have met NOTHING. The NFL season is a marathon not a sprint

When you look at the big picture the Cowboys are in trouble. The offense should have put up a lot of points on a depleted SF defense. I'm not convinced SF is all that good a team right now. Romo didn't look good and I said during the summer his best years are probably behind him after having back surgery. He could be headed for a down season and the first where signs of decline are starting to show.

Murray ran the ball for over 100 yards but the Cowboys are not going to have an explosive high scoring offense with the game plan we saw today. They're not going to win many games eating up 7-8 minutes to score a TD down by 18 points. When the Cowboys start getting behind they need to get the ball down the field.

Not sure about the big picture yet, but after week 1......we still don't really know how this offense will be. This game is going to be hard to be analyzed properly due to the start.

At first, the offense looked different with some nice additions mixed in but it soon turned into the same ole after we were down fast. Whatever game-plan they had, was thrown out the window.

It's not worth even looking for positives from the 2nd half. SF didn't try much and we only moved the ball with help from the officials and a very poorly thrown ball that Harris caught.

The offensive drives still take too long and that is fine if they are running the ball, not fine when in hurry up. Most snaps came down to the wire again and again.

The defense did look better in the 2nd half, but they weren't exactly being tested either. What is worse though, Mo and Carr continued to look bad against them.

So, after the first game, I have not learned what this teams potential can be because Romo did not give them a chance...it was over before the first quarter came to a close.
