Where are the "Austin can't run routes/get open" threads now?

Maybe just teams with the word Bay in their name. :lmao2:

Then the coaches just need to alter the schedule in Austin locker to read this weekend’s game is against the New York Bay Giants. :laugh2:

For all the "expert" breakdowns that were here last week on how he lacked this and that, so he was incapable of running certain patterns and could get no separation, etc., you would expect the board flooded with these threads assuring gloom and doom.

Very pleased to see that I guess the WR coach really was telling the truth, just like Romo, about what this guy could do. Yes, he did run a double move without falling and yes he did catch a back shoulder pass and finished it with some great work after the catch. Body control, separation.

Yes, I know, one game. HOWEVER. The point is, apparently, he can do everything many swore up and down he couldn't, based on their "expert" opinion. So whose man enough to eat their crow this morning?
That's an incomplete perception. This is the complete one:

Keep reading CowboysZone throughout the season because that perception ain't gonna change if they remain healthy.

Why? Beats me.

Austin made a nice play, at a very opportune time. But to read the Tampa papers, the safety broke down on the play. In fact, the safety was blamed for all three touchdowns that involved a long pass play.

That's flat out wrong. The safety on that play was Jermaine Phillips and he just got juked out of his socks and was quoted after the game saying he should've made the tackle. The safety on the other two plays was piscatelli, the white one.

And Austin's better route was actually the one Romo missed deep. He faked the slant and a sideline go, took an inside pattern and flat out blew past the corner. He looked so smooth doing it. Give respect where respect is due.

I wonder if the Cowboys were moving Martellus around during that touchdown? I think some of those pre-snap shifts may have confused the Bucs secondary.

Can't be that would indicate that Garrett may know what he is doing. :lmao:

So even though you mentioned it, one game tells you everything about this guy?

Maybe you should wait on this "I'm right, you're wrong," post until mid season at least.

I mean, he did beat the Tampa version of RW31, didn't he?

But then all I asked was for him to show me.

One down, fifteen to go.

The safety should get called out for getting faked, but he had nothing to do with allowing the sideline catch.

That is correct, Miles was open by about 4-5 yards, and the ball was thrown terribly.

True, Romo was a bit off target with his passes at the start of the game but seemed to find his touch as the game went on. Noticed that with many QB's this past weekend.

Awesome, he had a good catch in a game, now do it for the entire season and we'll talk.

Austin is one of the smoothest, most natural football players on the team.

The TD catch was big-time. He was well-covered, but made a fantastic adjustment, and then showed again how good he is with the ball in his hands.

I can't recall many situations where Romo threw to Austin and it was an incompletion because he was well-covered or dropped it. On the other hand, I can recall a handful of times where he was open deep and Romo overthrew him. Like in the Giants playoff game where he was open and Romo threw it 10 feet over his head.

Our STs present a real nightmare with Felix and Austin back there. If we ever get our blocking up to par, I believe our kickoff returns will be among the league's best.

I hate that saying

It was one catch. Bit soon for people to eat anyting.

He was open for another one that was probably a TD as well but Romo just barely over threw him. If nothing else he is someone who can definitely stretch the field, you have to respect his speed.

Even a blind squirel finds a nut. One catch, one game. If he does that consistantly then I will revise my opinion of him, but to me he is still a journeyman player right now.

So how about the other two times he was wide open down the field and Tony missed him? Was he not open those times either or do you just have an agenda. Everyone knocks on this game as a squeaker and how Tampa missed some opportunities but if Tony hits Miles those other two time it's another sure 14 points. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Miles is open ALOT but for some reason or another the ball isn't coming his way. I think that will happen less and less as the season wears on tho.

Not about the catch...about the fact he ran patterns many said he was incapable of.

You're talking about one game.
NOT A SEASON.
One game.

Who cares about the season? My point was, many posted he was not able to run anything but basically go routes. Not to mention not able to achieve separation.

Clearly he did both.
