Where are the Rob Ryan lamenters today?

Rob Ryan taking a step back and bending forward is priceless. I would be surprised if the media did not milk this little sideline spat for all its worth this week.

On second thought, no I wouldn't. New Orleans is involved, not Dallas.

Yep. If it were Dallas it would be the lead feature on Sports Center.

Never heard this stuff about Ryan being late/not attending his own meetings.

I read lips so here is what Payton was saying ..

"We look like last year's Dallas Cowboys out there! I just had a player call me Coach Garrett! I'm not Jason Garrett and you're not Rex Ryan!"

Thats funny.

Came out after he was let go by dallas.

Don't know if it was their way of throwing him under the bus to protect others or not.

However I doubt they would just make that up put it out there without repercussions if it were false.

Ian Fitzsimmons of 103.3 was working the sideline of a Jets game last year and when Rex heard he was from Dallas he said unsolicited, "You do know that Jerry fired my brother, right? Not Jason."

And if Ryan was that bad everywhere he'd been, why did Jason hire him in the first place? Or are you claiming that was Jerry...

Jerry might have officially done it, but he was driving Garrett and the other coaches crazy.

Glen "Stretch" Smith said that there were numerous defensive meetings, some that Ryan called, that Rob wouldn't even show up for.

And teams tire of a DC that is in constant head-coach-job-interview mode.

What has Rob Ryan done? Ever? He had a good defense last year when his opponent never had the ball and was down three scores all the time.

Rod Marinelli poops bigger than Rob Ryan.

Again it is only two games into the season.

And this is the most important stat to me.

People want to somehow dismiss all of last year's accomplishments because it destroys their agenda. (not you)

If at season's end, this proves to be the case, I would gladly revisit the conversation then.

But to somehow try to invalidate what Ryan accomplished last year and claim any sort of vindication at this point is both desperate and pathetic.

Rob Ryan's resume could be written on a napkin.

Rod Marinelli's resume would require a staple and a hard punch.

The Saints will turn it around. They are not finishing games..burying them as they are capable of.

The offense has made two great comebacks. It's finishing.

Rob Ryan isn't as good without that three-score lead he had all last year.

I agree to a point.

But when the head coach is berating you on the sidelines...that is pretty telling.

Ryan never needed a "pass", while people are trying to give one to Marinelli.

Fact is that neither guy had the talent they needed, while only one still took his unit to a Top 5 ranking.

That fact can't be glossed over or erased no matter how desperate some 'Super Fans' may be to do so.

Maranelli wasn't the coordinator last year, Kiffen was. If you are so impressed by top five defenses you may want to look up Maranelli's coaching history and compare to Ryan.

So would Monte Kiffin's - 15 years ago.

Times change.

But keep grasping.

Oh yeah, things could turn ugly in a hurry.

And maybe it will go from bad to worse down there? But Again, I'll reserve judgment after two games.

Watch them come to Dallas & hold us to 3 points or something.

I hope not but Murphy's Law & all that stuff.

Football is weird.

Monte Kiffin had a pretty impressive resume too - until recently.

If Marinelli gets us there, we'll all be happy.

But what is clear is that the guy we fired did it in the last season that counted.

Garrett should never be compared to Landry...even if is not really a comparison...if that makes sense lol

Not at this point. Agreed 100%. But his body of work as head coach isn't finished yet. I like where the team is headed and I like what Garrett brings to the table. I'm sure I'm in the minority, which is fine with me, just remember who told you so.
