Where do most of you see Henson getting a new start?

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to do anything at all with Henson.

He's 3rd string and he's signed for what...5 more years.

Let him stay 3rd...Work with him to improve whatever needs to be fixed and give him time.

The last thing this team needs is a 3rd string QB being a distraction in the locker room.

I'd say bring him to AZ. Navarre is awful, but I know he's not trying to be 3rd string again. He might start right now in Detroit.

Henson has said all the right things. Where is the distraction? If anything, Romo playing well has caused vastly more distraction...

That's an idea, ABQ.

I don't know if Baltimore would be good...it looks like even Billick has been forced to admit his boy Boller was a bad idea...and how many more years (months, weeks, days)does McNair have left?

Is Fassel still in Baltimore, standing around twiddling his thumbs, or did he move on? Drew could make a decent project for him if he hasn't.

I don't necessarily think it's advantageous for Drew to go to a team where the coach is under pressure to win fast (and Billick's post 2000 record ain't pretty)..but it would be Ozzie Newsome making the call, and that would be meaningful in this league.

Yeah, Baltimore could be a place for him. I have tons of respect for Newsom so I think you make a good point there.

The thing that makes me think about Green Bay is the coaching staff and Favre's comments on how much of a help he was to him personally when he was younger.

I also liken Henson to Favre a bit. Not saying he is as good but they have many of the same strengths and I just think that offense suits what Henson might need. I guess we will see soon enough.

Henson for Mike Williams WR Detroit would sort of appease me.

when i heard jjones make the comment about henson playing for another team, i knew it was over. i hated it but i can see him in detroit easily. he's used to the area, detroit has nothing for qb's, and they've got some WR's we could take a chance on.

Detroit could be a possibility. If Henson ends up a probowl QB and Romo doesn't, Bill looks like a fool. That's why I'm pretty sure Big Bill believes this kid has no chance of being any good. Think about it; Bill doing his Espn gig after he retires and having to explain every week why he cut him. His ego couldn't take that.

Would not suprise me that he ends up back in Houston.

For a tackling dummy and two roles of tape.

Oh, that would suck.

Detroit. Matt Millen is boneheaded enough to take the chance. And if anyone can turn quarterback lead into gold and resurrect this kid's floundering NFL career, it's Mike Martz. Seems like the obvious choice.

How's their oline looking this year?

Nevermind, it's not like Drew didn't get accustomed to less than sterling line play here.

And there's another gripe I have - had Bill gotten the line issues solved earlier, perhaps his mind would have been more open to more actively developing Drew....and I am not saying Drew and Tony haven't been 'developed', just that there's a far cry from behind the scenes back-up tutorials and the full blown getting ready of afranchise level qb.

One failure impacts another...

Anyway, I won't belabor Bill's decision. What's done is done.

But Drew is on LTN 'life' support, wherever he goes.

wouldnt be suprised if ends up going back to Houston. This year is probably Carr's last chance to prove he can be their starting QB and if he struggles then Henson would probably get a chance to play and see what he has

Agreed. I wish him luck where ever he goes.

I hear Henson is in negotiations to play his third choice sport professionally.

I have been thinking just what team he could go to that would be a good fit for him. Would it need to be a team looking to develop a starting QB in the next year or two, or should it be a team just looking for some depth? Just looking at various teams and what they currrently have I think the Lions might be the best place for him. Martz as OC, good young talent at most skill positions, Kitna won't be around forever, plus he would be back in MI. What are your HONEST thoughts? Pleae don't try the "Henson sucks/bust" angle just to be a smart arse. If you think this and think he will never pan out then this thread and question are probably not meant for you to begin with. Of course you are entitled to your opinion never-the-less.

I have no idea, but I seriously doubt 2 or 3 years from now his future will be in Football, unless he is a backup in Canada.

They were talking on Sirius this morning about how the Browns deperately need another QB. After Frye, they have Dorsey and a guy named Anderson. Neither of which should be in the NFL. Henson would be a better option, and a fall back if Frye ends up not being the answer.

I don't think the Lions makes sense. I really think Josh McCown will end up the starter in Detroit, before the season is over. this guy is good, IMO. He had the top three most yards thrown games in the NFL last year with the Cardinals. I wanted us to go after him in FA, but we didn't.

The Chiefs would be my other pick for Henson. They have a 37 year old Trent Green, a rookie QB with shoulder problems in Croyle, and let's face it, Henson is a much better prospect than Brodie Croyle, and some Canadian football cast off who is short and tends to run a lot. Henson would really fit in well developing behind Trent Green for a couple of years.

The Saints, who really need something to fall back on if Brees never recovers from that shoulder injury, and after last night, he doesn't look too good.

The Colts. I don't know the status of Sorgi, but he really has looked bad this preseason, and now he is hurt. The have Shaun King, who, is the sole reason the Buccaneers didn't win a title in 2000. Behind Manning, Henson certianly is smart enough to grasp the offense and do the same type of things Manning does. With a few years, it would help insure that if Manning was hurt, that the dropoff would not be so severe, as it is now.

Wherever he goes, if at all, I wish him luck, will follow his progress, and hope for his success.

This was my post from yesterday. Although it was followed up by several replies claiming that there is no way Henson is going to cut or traded this year (stupid me I guess), I still think a trade is possible, and one of these teams may fit the bill. If Jerry can work a trade, at least he can keep Henson from signing on with the Eagles, Giants, or Commanders, where he could come back three or four years from now and make Jerry look like a fool, after Parcells is long gone.
