exactly....who is the next coordinator in the waiting?

I wouldn't mind seeing Schwartz as the head coach and bring in Gruden (when he gets fired from DC) as the offensive coordinator...that would be a good combination. I like Schwartz aggressive defensive schemes. I like Gruden's offensive scheme...he is just not a good head coach.

I like Schwartz that is a name I forgot about... he did good in Detroit but it was Detroit... I think if he got the job you would see Linehan stay.

Again, what's "silly" is any attempt to place them on equal footing. In any way. That's what's "just silly".

You admitted yourself that Garrett inherited the quarterback - Romo. The most precious and difficult thing to acquire in sports. And who was it again that was responible for Romo being that quarterback?

Duane Charles Parcells.

If the man did nothing else in his tenure, he got this team's quarterback right. When they went through failure after failure after failure after Aikman retired. Advantage. Big Bill.

Parcells inherited a team that had gone 5-11 for three straight seasons. Bottom of the heap.

He immediately took them to 10-6 and the playoffs.

The team Garrett inherited went 11-5 the year before. He proceeded to take them to three 8-8 seasons.

You want to try to establish equal footing where it doesn't exist.
I think you are changing the argument to drive to you agenda, you clearly want to blame garrett for everything and give him zero credit for anything that he may have done, second you are blaming him for taking the job in the first place and you are blaming him for not getting fired.

he wasn't comparing garret to parcells...he was comparing talents on those teams and the FACT they both had bad teams, but you are trying to spin it into, garrett had a better team than parcells and that makes garrets team a good team, thus garrett is a bad coach....

the argument was garrett and parcells inherited bad teams..>FACT....was the cupboard empty? no...the argument thus is whose cupboard was less.....

no one in their right mind has said parcells is a lesser coach than garrett....

and btw, we all on this board, talked about room and how much had to scramble because of a crapppy OL and that we need to fix the OL and if it wasn't for his Houdini act, he would be dead......

and parcells brought process to the house, where Jerry was picking from seat of his pants...he brought a direction, a goal, approach and drafted to fill the needs to meet those goals...Jerry said he learned a lot from Parcell and he thought now he knows...then he royally went back to what he did before and screw up a push over of a coach in wade....the 2008, 2009 drafts under wade were horrendous...jerry totally screwed up those drafts...which meant two years of no talent added. further more he traded for Roy WIlliams despite being told please don't do that...we gave up draft picks and Roy ended up sucking royally.......

the team garrett inherited was 1-7....what happened the year before is irrelevant....

its true that parcells inherited a less talented team (OL not withstanding), but doesn't mean the team garrett had was loaded or any good or had the right players to succeed....

Again, irrelevant.

Entirely relevant. Perfect example of a dysfunctional organization. Deal with it.

You think Wade had nothing to do with that? You think he didn't have a say in gameplanning?

Offensively? Not at all. He even admits it in his own book. He coached half the team and spoke at the press conferences. Garrett was gifted the offense before Wade ever got here. But again, you keep trying to call that "irrelevant" because it screws up your excuses.

Show me how it's relevant.

Oh, I'm sorry, you see head coaches are hired first and then they choose their assistants, guys to run things the way the head coach wants them run, not the other way around. I didn't realize that you weren't familiar with this fact.

I assume it related to how Wade wanted his gameplan. But I'm just trying to apply consistent standards.

You may or may not recall, but when Garrett took over from Wade the mantra around the organization was, "accountability." Perhaps Garrett holding players accountable where Wade didn't improved their execution on Sundays.

I won't dispute this assertion at all. Wade cut his own throats with all of his "that's one me" nonsense. Eventually, it was and he paid the price.

But that doesn't excuse Garrett for his bumbling either.

So why isn't your beef with the current coordinators? Every game in the NFL can come down to a failure from one of three units. Apparently Wade has a special place in your eyes since he's the only HC who was only half responsible for his team's gameplan and execution.

Because Garrett's clearly the head coach of this team. He obviously doesn't coach the offense, he hired his buddy Linehan for that. And he hired Marinelli to run the defense for him so he doesn't run that. So where else should Garrett have responsibility if not for the ultimate winning and losing of this team? Where does he have accountability?

For the record, I have plenty of beef with the coordinators, especially Linehan. But I know who brought him here as well so I know who's ultimately responsible. Wade never brought Garrett here. Jerry did that.

I like to move on from linehan.....he is not a good Xs and Os guy and his play calling is not that good.

that's why I like Gruden..he has a really good passing game scheme....gets the most out of average players...

An appeal to popularity isn't an argument.

No, facts are.

Address those. And the question asked. What successful organization handles hires in such an *** backwards manner?

Deal with it.

What was the record of the team the year before Garrett inherited it? 11-5 and playoffs. If I can say anything, I can say that Garrett played as big of a role as anybody in that 1-7 number you keep bringing up. After all, who was running half of that 1-7 team?
the team quit on wade....that was evident in the *** kicking we got on national TV in GB....defensive players just watched the game on the field.....

that tells volumes about Wade's ability as a head coach and leader.....

I'm blaming Garrett for failing to do the job given to him. Try to keep up.

he wasn't comparing garret to parcells...he was comparing talents on those teams and the FACT they both had bad teams, but you are trying to spin it into, garrett had a better team than parcells and that makes garrets team a good team, thus garrett is a bad coach....

The fact is that Parcells inherited an infinitely worse team, one lacking the most important position in sports. Any debates end there.

the team garrett inherited was 1-7....what happened the year before is irrelevant....

Only if you're looking for excuses.

its true that parcells inherited a less talented team (OL not withstanding), but doesn't mean the team garrett had was loaded or any good or had the right players to succeed....

Again, Parcells inherited a team that went 5-11 for 3 years prior.

The 2009 Cowboys went 11-5 and won a playoff game. Not in the same universe.

I like Titans OC Matt LeFleur. Got a year under belt with Rams last year and has served under some good OCs and minds with Wash and Atlanta. I want to see what he does this year. Young and up and coming.

Two names at the top of my list would be Michigan's Jim Harbaugh and Wisconsin's Paul Chryst.

I would be absolutely furious if someone stole Paul Chryst from my Badgers, even my beloved Cowboys.
That said the dude is going to be a great NFL head coach someday. Arguably the best pro style offensive mind in college football and a class act to boot.
I could see him as the next HC of the packers. He is a Wisconsin guy.
I believe the Cowboys actually tried to hire Chryst as an offensive coordinator a few years back before he was a head coach.

Harbaugh would be better than JG in the short term (1-2 seasons), but I dno about the long-term. I do think Harbaugh would jump to the NFL if he gets the right opportunity as the road to a championship at Michigan is arguably the hardest in the country with the B1G east what it is right now.

it doesn't fit his agenda and argument, so he tries to support his argument with selective history.....

None of it wrong however.

And funny how the guy who falsely credits Garrett with drafting this offensive line dares to call anyone sles's "selective history"...

It also "truth" that they were 1-7 with Garrett running half of it. "Spin" however you want to if you think you're getting Garrett off the hook. You're not.

Wade was hired after Garrett was. And was making more money than Wade was at one time. It's the truth.

But it's obvious that you want to blame everything on Wade while giving Garrett a pass. Not happening.
wade was the head coach...so he does get a lot of the blame.... and garrett as the head coach gets a lot of the blame... that goes with the position.

and garrett being hired first...that's jerry for you...but somehow that's garrett's fault in your mind
