Demarcus Ware, quite possibly the most dominant defensive player of his era, finally winning a Defensive MVP...

...or Tony Romo winning the MVP to finally shut up all his critics?

And in this scenario, neither answers affects our team's win/loss tally. This is purely for the sake of the individual--- Ware, long our best Cowboy finally winning something he's long deserved, or Romo winning something to prove he's elite?

either would be great but meaningless if we do not win.

Well, duh. Why do people feel the need to always say things like this? Not being rude, just don't understand the point in stating the obvious when the question doesn't warrant that response.

If he Won a Super Bowl, that would "shut up all the critics" but since you put this way, if he does not win an MVP or a Super Bowl, does that mean that all of his critics are correct?

Probably for the same reason you, somehow felt it was a good idea to start this thread and pretty much bait everybody into another useless argument over Romo by saying what you say? You surely have to know that all that will do is start more arguments.

Thanks for playing along, guys. Haha.

That is not at all why I started this thread. Never been a troller nor a firestarter.

Sorry individual awards and not winning is meanless. I guess I could ask the point of the question does it matter if Romo wins MVP and this team fails to make it to post season or is bumped out of post season? It is not going to quite anyone they will still say he can't win when it counts fair or unfair. Awards without winning is worthless

Accolades mean nothing to me unless I'm getting them. Call me selfish.
For the Cowboys- there is only one accolade I want for them 2014 Superbowl Champion!

Romo. But of course, that would go hand in hand with winning a lot of games. So to take that out of the equation is futile. And an MVP would also be meaningless if we were one and done in the playoffs, if anything, it would give critics even more ammunition.

Yup, 2014 SB Champion sounds good to me, the rest would take care of itself at that point. Kind of like our 1992 defense, without a single Pro Bowl player. How does history look back on that defense? A heck of a lot more positively, with a SB trophy next to them.

Can confirm, EnR so legit, anyone who pays attention knows that's not what's up here.

I go with Romo. Ware is first ballot and DMVPs are notoriously stupid. Bob Sanders? James Harrison? Um others? Made for flash in the pan players who have a good season here or there/take enormous amounts of PEDs.

This is a fan message board. We like talking about these kinds of things because they are... fun.

How annoying would it be to show up in every thread and end it with "unless the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, it's all meaningless"?

Who should be the backup RB? Unless the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, it's all meaningless!
Is Jason Garrett the right man for the job? Unless the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, it's all meaningless!
What a great catch by Dez for a touchdown! Unless the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, it's all meaningless!

I mean, we can discuss things without it all pointing back to the Super Bowl. Why so serious?

Exactly

Thanks for getting my back, SP. Old school represent.

And I agree with you, for the same reasons. Although it's frustrating that Ware is 10 times the player that most of those one year wonders who won DMVP over him in the last decade are, so I want it for him. But you're right-- I'd love Romo to win MVP. Besides a Super Bowl trophy (yeah, yeah), it's the ultimate "this guy is legit" card.
