Which would you rather...?

Demarcus Ware, quite possibly the most dominant defensive player of his era, finally winning a Defensive MVP...

...or Tony Romo winning the MVP to finally shut up all his critics?

And in this scenario, neither answers affects our team's win/loss tally. This is purely for the sake of the individual--- Ware, long our best Cowboy finally winning something he's long deserved, or Romo winning something to prove he's elite?

It doesn't effect are win/loss ratio? Then I don't care...

If Romo wins the MVP we are probably a 12 win or better team, not the case if D Ware wins it, so it´s Romo for me.

Either one winning would mean that we had a pretty good season. The thing is if the Defense is good enough for Ware to win Defensive MVP, then Tony will be in the running for MVP, a SuperBowl, and a SuperBowl MVP. Romo puts the boys on his back for 6 wins a season. We would win 10 to12 games if the Defense held up in the 4th, and we would win 11 to 13 games if Romo didnt lose 2 games a season trying to insure that we win them because he knows that the D will have another 4th quarter let down.

I guess what I am saying is this. League MVP has a lot to do with what your team success. Romo has put up MVP stats before, but the D was terrible in clutch moments. If the D can hold up in the 4th critics will lose all validity really quick.

:)

How many league MVP's have the Cowboys had? The only one I can recall is Emmitt in 1993......

I like team guys who don't give a rip about individual achievements, like Troy Aikman. So I choose neither but the team wins a Super Bowl :)

if your qb wins MVP then you have likely made the playoffs and had a good season. MVP for a qb means wins, not just stats. not many qb's have won the mvp and not gotten their teams to the playoffs. so i think i would rather have romo, but both sounds better

The answer would affect the teams win/loss record. You want to pick the player who's performance will greatly affect the teams performance the most and that would be Romo. The NFL is a QB driven league and if you have a QB playing at an MVP level you're going to dominate a number of games and coast into the playoffs. If Romo wins the MVP the Cowboys would not only make the playoffs but would possibly be the #1 seed. The last 3 QB's to win the MVP Rodgers, Brady and Manning didn't have worse than a 14-2 record and 2 of those QB's made it to the SB. Romo winning the MVP could propel him into finally putting it all together in the playoffs.

Of the last 12 QB's to win the MVP 7 of them led their team to the SB. It would be more important for Romo to win the MVP than Ware because he needs the respect. Ware is one of the most respected players in the league and will be a first ballot Hall of Famer when it's all said and done he doesn't need an MVP. Romo earning the award would be a big step into changing the negative perception many have of him.

I would trade trophies for playoff wins anyday.

I'm sure Romo and Ware would do the same.

Since we are taking hypothetical requests, .. I would love to see Ware win DMVP and Romo win OMVP, .. and the Cowboys win the Super Bowl.

If it is only hypthetical, why not dream for the moon? !!! LOL
