Who are the Cowboys running back targets other then Jeanty

You need to be Ollie's agent! Plenty of excuses there for the drop off and worse numbers than the back ups.

The problem is I wouldn't bet a high pick on all of his surroundings being the problem.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/team/stats/_/id/197/oklahoma-state-cowboys

Ollie Gordon - 190 carries, 880 yds, 4.6 ypc, long of 68, 13 tds
S. Vailahi - 42 carries, 99 yds, 2.2 ypc, long of 11, 2 tds
T. Howland - 41 carries, 230 yds, 5.6 ypc, long of 22, 1 td
R. Fields Jr - 21 carries, 99 yds, 4.7 ypc, long of 23, 1 td

This is the hill you're going to die on while calling valid points, 'excuses'? Rough look.

IMO drafting Jeanty in round one is a huge mistake for a team in desperate need of help in the trenches, especially on defense. Finding a good impact RB is way easier than finding an impact DL. This draft is deep in talented RBs.

My targets would be rounds 2-6; Would consider possibly taking two or getting another as an UFA:
ROUNDS 2-3
  • Treyveon Henderson Ohio State- elite speed for a RB, makes great cuts, excellent receiver, game breaker at any moment.
  • OMarion Hampton North Carolina- has a nice burst in open field, size and power. Not as great as receiver.
  • Quinshon Judkins- also Ohio State- not as fast as Henderson but great balance, nose for the goal line, makes great cuts, and can break tackles.
  • Ollie Gordon Oklahoma State- 2023 Doak Walker award winner would have been a first round pick last year but OSU had a rough year this year. Big and powerful but also has good speed.
ROUNDS 4-6
  • Dylan Sampson Tennessee- may not fall as far as 4th. Great speed, in fact may be fastest RB in draft, good lateral quickness, decent receiver.
  • RJ Harvey Central Florida-not elite speed but very quick, consistently productive runner in college, good balance, hits hole quickly.
  • Tahj Brooks Texas Tech - a sleeper. Not fast but very patient finding hole, breaks tons of tackles and is a sneaky good receiver. Might be available in rounds 5-7.
These guys are much better value in the draft than Jeanty.
Wow, taking one of the top players in the draft is a mistake in your eyes. No, it isn't when you look at ability and character.
Yes, it is when your OL/DL ARE a mess. BUILD THE TRENCHES. Taking Jeanty in the first round would be a major mistake. This team is 3 or 4 years away from being a contender.. BUILD THE TRENCHES. You should have watched the Super Bowl. First three-round OL/DL, RB in the fourth

It’s a mistake when it’s too early.
Question: What is harder to find? A great RB or a great DT?
Answer: Much harder to find a great DT. Good RBs can be found on Day 2. Harder to find impact DTs on Day 2-3.

Bobhaze can call it in advance guys. Jeanty is a mistake according to him. I can't wait to see. I'll go with Jeanty.

Your reaction score is an embarrassment to reaction scores. Maybe it is because of positions like this ;)

While we must work on the DL, that’s a deep DT group this year.
We must get a #2 WR who can get open, separate. We know it won’t happen in free agency, and we know there’s no one on the roster who can get open consistently. It’s a much weaker draft for impact WRs.

Thus, I feel we will draft a WR at 12 or move down a little for another day 2 pick and still take a WR. McMillan, Burden, Ebuka, or Golden.

DT and RB in rounds 2-3 (in any order). Hopefully another day 2 pick. Then draft talent across the board with the other 6-7 picks and use any compensatory picks to move around a bit.
Yeah, I'm afraid that WR will be at the top of the list because our front office won't get a No. 2 in free agency. I want DT/RB or RB/DT in the first two rounds, but No. 2 WR will be a clear need if we don't address it in FA.

it's okay to be wrong... you made a statement about how the 2nd and 3rd rbs were better. They clearly weren't. Who cares, move on. Will Ollie be drafted before the 7th? Probably. The 4th? maybe? Will he be good in the NFL? I don't know. Is he the best RB on oklahoma state? Definitely.

imagine caring about reaction scores on an internet forum...another embarrassing hill to die on.

by the way, I know the oklahoma states rb stats were an inconvenient truth for your opinion. Well heres another, Ive been on this forum 20 years and 90% of my messages occurred way before reaction scores were a thing.

There were 4 RBs that had carries for OK St. Two f them were freshman. Ollie was 3rd in ypc.

One late round guy I like a lot is Michigan’s Kalel Mullings.

Mullings goes 6’-1” and 234 lbs. he ran for 948 yards and 12 TDs and be our hammer. He also came to Michigan as a LB and played that position for three years before transitioning to RB so he is adept at tackling and can justify his spot on special teams.

I see him going anywhere between Rounds 5-7.

Treyvon Henderson is my guy.

That said, keep a eye on DJ Giddens from Kansas State. No. 1, he's a good RB, but no. 2, we just hired their o-line coach who may provide a favorable word to the scouts/FO.
Was thinking the exact same bro. He's pretty good as well

Giddens is a good option for us if we don't draft one high.

Actually reminds me of Rico Dowdle.

Bucky was crazy value. There are so many guys this draft that could be crazy value also. Allen, Tracy Jr., and Isaiah Davis were all Dallas targets, and it's so surprising Tracy was at the top of the entire class, again value.

Of course Mullings is one of my favorites, glad to see someone else seeing the vision of what he can bring.

Yeah, they had 20% of the attempts relaricr to Ollie and one only out-performed him by 0.1 ypc. They didn't have a significant amount of carries to even warrant a comparison. Thats the point. When a rb throws 1 pass for a td and has a 158.3 qb rating while the qb goes 20 for 25, 300 yards and 2 tds, but has a 150 qb rating....nobody would say the rb was the better passer. it's called context sprinkled with a bit of critical thinking

And those stats are without accounting for the attention Ollie garnered compared to a backup rb that got carries in garbage time or without 8 men in the box.

The facts are laid out. This discussion is rotten.
