No one really knows what Jerry is going to do (not here anyways) and anyone that proclaims to know is merely guessing. I know what I think, and I know what my wishes are, but we will just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, let's root for a win tomorrow and let the chips fall where they may.

I would take the fact that the players "liked" Garrett as a positive if it were some sort of prerequisite for a successful football coach.

Plain and simple, it isn't.

exactly

and what is that evidence of "like" based on?

sound bites in front of media (file under the category "what else do you expect from football players")

by the way, this is the same "evil media" that is against the cowboys and is also partly responsible for thier lack of success

Jerrys' Yes Man stays, no one jumps out as a must have plus Jones is too controlling and paranoid to hire the right person.

Jerry would get all the praise in the world from me if he gets well respected football guys and works with them. I'm not asking him to cede involvement, but man, involve yourself with the best minds in the game and absorb from them. Not Lacewell, Jim Garrett and Red Head.

This has been my trouble from Day 1. Business 101 says to stick with a successful model. That model with Jimmy got you tons of praise and you were on the cover of every magazine out there with your hair messed up hoisting SB trophies! If he hired a GM and strong coach and won people would praise him left and right. But he doesn't get that. You can still be involved without screwing it up.

The real thing that blows my mind are the Tom Landry comparisons.

They are completely based on an idea about Landry that is just not factual.

This is an old article about Landry from Gary Cartwright.

Long article but a great picture of what Landry was truly like. And he was not exactly a warm guiding life mentor for everybody.

I'm feeling that Jason is going to be fired if Dallas loses. That's my gut feeling.

I sure hope you're right and that's how I feel it should be.

But the cynic in me believes that this team will get trounced on Sunday Night and the old fool will lie to himself and try to give his chosen one an undeserved pass and then he will try to get the fanbase to believe the very same lie.

If the Cowboys get trounced, it will simply be chalked up to not having Romo. And people will buy that, hook line and sinker.

Suckers maybe.

But I can see the warts well beyond not having Romo.

I think this team would have been every bit as trounced with him as without him.

And again, I hope to be very wrong, but my expectations, based on prior evidence, is that this team loses big on Sunday Night yet again.

And I'm a 'three strikes and you're out' kinda guy...

While I hope for a win, if we lose, I hope it is like 50 or 60 to nothing. Anything to piss Jerry off enough to make the move he needs to make for this team to be successful. Not that there are any guarantees Jerry will hire the "right" coach but he needs to see Garrett is without any doubt whatsoever, not the "right" coach.

But then Kiffin will have to go. Or Callahan. Some cosmetic changes will be made to be the rallying cry for next year.

A lot of Lions' players like their coach too and think he should stay. He should be fired. Will he? My guess is probably. And the worst thing about that is that he is probably a better coach than Garrett. Not that either of them are any good.:)

If we get trounced, it'll be because of the defense. And not even just the pass defense anymore, with the LB corps in its current state.

The problem on this team is with the pass defense, and not with the head coach. If we're smart, the offseason is dedicated to fixing it. "Facts" to the contrary notwithstanding.

Kiffin will just make himself go. I am not even sure Callahan gets scapegoated.

I am fairly convinced this will probably not be one of those offseasons with people being taken to woodsheds or made "uncomfortable". It will probably be a lot like the 2009 season where the theme was continuity.

Jason Garrett is probably the worst coach in NFL history.... And I'm being serious. Jim Zorn runs circles around thus clown. I could field a team with Romo as my QB and this talent, with a bunch of run of the mill assistant coaches and achieve 8-8.

Worst coach ever?

You really believe your own hyperbole don't you.

Jason Garrett will stay only because injuries and lack of talent have overshadowed his questionable game-day management skills as a head coach.

Here is a good lesson for all Zoners. If your going to say something really stupid go ahead and add the line, "and I'm being serious." It lets everyone know you weren't actually joking and it gives your post instant credibility.
