Although Romo should be #4 at worst on that list, two things I've noticed around here:

1.People take it extremely personal if someone says anything negative about Romo

2. Personal insults/attacks only seem to be allowed when being critical of said person having a negative opinion about Romo.

We know Romo is a top 5 QB regardless of what anyone says. Some of you really need to stop taking it so personal as if he's part of your bloodline.

Good post. I think us Cowboys fans defend/get offended when anyone tries to insult our Qb because the media betrays him to be a choker/underperformer and we all know that isnt true.

I think if we're realistic about it, this list is pretty close, especially with the top five.

I would argue with you but its just not worth it.......

I don't think it is just his opinion that you would be arguing with. Of course the Dallas fans are biased, but the national media and fans don't think Romo is elite and they consider him an average QB. I think he is better than given credit for , but I am a little biased myself.

If only stats told the whole story. There were times last year where Rodgers doninated so much they had to pull him out ot the game for the whole 4th quarter.

Brady has total loser receivers and RB's and still leads the team to a super bowl and shines in said SB.

Only reason Romo had a fantastic year last year is our running game was the best in the whole NFL and our line literally gave him all day to throw the ball.

Most non Cowboy fans realize this and a select few realists Cowboy fans realize it too. Sure, Romo is good but he isn't elite or anything.

Eli has 2 championship rings, he went through Romo directly to win both of them. He's a fantastic QB. For all of the bellyaching around here about Romo's support system, Eli has an atrocious OL and it doesn't stop him.

^^^^^^This guy needs to stop talking right now, theres doo doo coming out of his mouth!!! ^^^^^^

I disagree with the statement that our line gave him all day to throw. We have a great line but I remember too many times where the ball was snapped and Romo was on his back. The line was great at times and bad at times. His scrambling ability bought him time. Our line is great at run blocking but could be better at pass protection. As far as winning goes, if the Dez catch hadn't been overturned we would have been in the Championship game. I know your not a Romo fan but he would already have a ring if the team had a just a decent D the last few years. I respect your opinion but your argument is arguable to say the least..

And you call yourself a realist.

Only reason? Right, it's not as if Romo created plays as well. I must be imagining the 3rd and 20 pickup against the Seahawks, or the JJ Watt spin move for a TD, or the countless other plays. Romo did have one of the best lines last year, its also true his running game was top notch. But with that said, it's also true Romo himself played at a high level.

You're talking as if those other players are the only reason he's perfoming well, heck you even said it. And that couldn't be completely further from the truth. The fact of the matter is Romo has always played well (even in the 3 straight 8-8 seasons), just now we're actually winning games. About time other players stepped up to the plate and picked up the slack, one guy can only do so much.

Brees
Ben
Eli
Luck - Mostly due to the age factor. Way more physically talented than Romo.
R. Wilson - Another age pick.

The Cowboy's OL wasn't as good at pass blocking last year as some here seem to think. It's not like Romo went untouched.

The Packer's pass blocking was at least on par with the Cowboys last year. PFF had the Packers OL ranked as the #1 pass blocking line in the NFL and Football Outsiders also ranked them ahead of the Cowboys OL.

My point here is the guy who led the league in passing rating (Romo) actually played behind a OL that probably wasn't as good overall in pass protection as the guy who ended up #2 in passing rating (Rodgers).

I think some folks assume the Cowboys absolute dominance in run blocking equates to an equivalent degree of pass blocking -- which is didn't last year. The 10 sacks allowed in 2 games during the playoffs are an example of this -- although obviously not of them were the OL's responsibility.

I expect them to be much better pass blocking this season.

If I need some exciting wins in the regular season, Romo is top 3. If a need a QB to win a Super Bowl, he's no where near the top. Pretty indisputable evidence.

I know one thing, Romo is definitely better than Peyton Manning going into the season. That guy is a gigantic noodle arm right now. And Andrew Luck is good but he is a turnover machine.
