Who Is The Best QB In The NFC East?

If there has been one word to describe the NFC East division over the past several years, you’d be hard pressed to find one better suited than unpredictable. Maybe erratic or crazy. But unpredictable is best. All four teams are looking for stability which is often directly handed down from leadership. The leaders of a team are the GM’s office, coaches and of course, quarterbacks.

Since everyone loves to talk about quarterbacks the most, we’ll start there. All of these QB’s may be unpredictable but none of them are the same. They each have their unique characterization.

Eli Manning (New York Giants) is the only Super Bowl champion in this group. He’s a veteran with a rocket arm and he has more rings than his older brother named Peyton. Maybe you’ve heard of him?

Nick Foles (Philadelphia Eagles) is the young underdog. He seemed to master Chip Kelly’s college styled offense and came out of nowhere to steal Mike Vick’s job and he threw for 27 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions during the regular season. Wait what?

Robert Griffin III (Washington Commanders) is highly drafted and deemed by many to be the great QB of the future after his rookie season. However, a nasty injury and a little bit of over-publicity seemed to ground the seemingly “untouchable” QB in his second year. Will he return to first year form?

Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys) is the brunt of everyone’s joke because apparently he always chokes in big games. Statistically, he’s been nothing short of spectacular, but that won’t change anyone’s mind until he wins the “big one.” Will the gunslinger finally break the curse?

It’d be very difficult to pick out one of these guys and say that they are undoubtedly the best in the division although Manning’s two rings probably makes the strongest case. With the division title being anyone’s to take for the past several years, all of these QB’s have the chance to take their teams to a level of division dominance.

Let’s take an in-depth look. http://dallascowboysnation.com/2014/04/best-qb-nfc-east/

Romo. Has been for years. Great stats throughout his career regardless of poor OL or D. Many, many, clutch, amazing performances. His few bad moments are magnified by the media and fans to the point that it seems to negate all the good/great things he does in the minds of the uneducated. What he is lacking (postseason success/wins) are TEAM accomplishments. Hopefully he (his team really) will achieve some of that over the next few years. IMO, he's the most underrated/overly criticized player in the league.

Not this goofball even with the rings:

So it cant be this guy until he at least can prove he can do it for more than a partial season:

And RG3-10 has to prove he can stay healthy & prove he can play at an NFL level minus the gimmicky offense:

So, there is only one legit QB of whom it can be said he is the best in the NFC East:

@WPBCowboysFan , what the heck is waters doing there? Looks like he's trying to swat Romo's pass. Guess Romo bought so much time, Waters forgot he was in offense.

I've watched that clip quite a few times and never noticed what Waters did there. WTH was that?! Poor Romo even has to contend with his own teammates trying to swat down his passes. Lol!

With the pedigree RG3 and Eli have for Romo to even be in the discussion is pretty darn good.

At the NFL level, what pedigree does RG3 have compared to Romo?

Big fan of Romo.

It would be interesting to see how on the other teams message boards would rate the qb's. I am sure on giants message board, Eli would be the consensus.

Also interesting how nfl personnel people would rate all 4. I would assume Eli and Tony would be pretty close. Eli would probably come out ahead due to age, the non back history and his success in the playoffs. Although Eli definitely had a down year last year and his roster needs to be rebuilt similar to Tony's.

Well, looks look at them and see how they stack up.

Romo - He doesn't have any rings, and his "win or go home record" is like 1 Win - 345900 Loses. So he can't be it.

Foles - He doesn't have any rings, and his playoff win% is literally zero. Also, he's known as Romo 2.0. So he can't be it.

Roberto Griffene - He doesn't have any rings, and he literally has more ACL surgeries then playoff wins. So he can't be it.

Eli Manning - He has two rings, but his QBRating is on par with his IQ. He also believes interceptions are the same thing as touchdowns. So he can't be it.

So if none of those 4 guys are the best, then who is it you ask? Well, you should know him, he's a Dallas Cowboy!

Jason Garret - That's right, Jason Garret is the best QB in the nfceast. He has two superbowl rings, and he even has a higher QBRating then Eli Manning, who would've thought? He's got the rings to prove it, and he's clutch. Without his morale support from the bench I don't think we win those super bowls in 1993 and 1995, clutch I tell yah!
