Who Is The Best Team In Texas?

Mavericks.

Dallas has better bigs and a better bench.

You said the same thing last year

People really think the Spurs will win this series? The Mavs bench will eat the Spurs bench up.

:lmao:

I like all three of the NBA teams in Texas, but San Antonio just screams "professional" from the word go.

The Cowboys could learn a thing or two about how to run an organization from the Spurs.

The Mavs are too much like the Cowboys.

It's pretty nice to say you have won 4 championships when you were practically handed them in the finals. Nets, Cavaliers, Pistons, and Knicks, not something I'd be bragging on. The Spurs, historically, are the better franchise, but regarding this season, at full health for both teams, the Mavs are slightly better. If the Spurs lose ginobili or parker to an injury, may luck be with you.

It was virtually the same Pistons team that beat the Lakers.

Let me throw this out there to the Spurs Fans of CZ... If the Mavericks were in the finals, would you root them because they represent the state of Texas or would your affiliation to the Spurs cause you to support the other team?

Depends on the other team ..... a few years ago I would have rooted for the Mavs ..... but the Mavs owner and mavs fans have changed that.

Funny how the Mavs were not able to do it then.

Can any of the Spurs fan help me with this? I'm looking on the Spurs website under Coaches/Staff and I cant seem to find the Flopping and/or Whining with an open jaw, back slightly bent forward, and palms outward and open positional coach

You must be applying for the crybaby/sour grapes/no heart assistant coach position.

Contact Mark Cuban at his offices for an interview.

Mavs or Spurs?
They are two of the three most winning teams of the last decade, but nobody can argue with those Titles down in SA.
Spurs hands-down overall.

As for this year. I think the Mavs would beat the Spurs in a 7 game series. I'd love to see them meet again in the West Finals.

and the Spurs didn't have to play Bird and the Celtics in the finals twice
And the Rockets didn't have to play Jordan and the Bulls.

go back and watch each game...aside from that series, the two were even statistically, with the Spurs having the edge in victories. In that series, it wasn't Hakeem dominating David, it was Rudy T dominating Bob Hill. David was left on an island to guard Hakeem, meanwhile on the other end, Hakeem rarely played David one on one, he almost always had double or triple team help.

The facts are as such, one on one, David cannot stop Hakeem, just as Hakeem cannot stop David. Rudy T knew this, and so he forced the other Spurs to try and beat the Rockets, and they failed. All people remember are the stats and Hakeem going off offensively. So many forget Hakeem on the defensive end and how he had so much help on David.

But it is ok. The Rockets won the series and went on to sweep Shaq. So while I am upset over that loss, I am happy Shaq got swept.

The Spurs are in the top 3 all-time with winning % along with the Lakers and Celtics. They have only 6 losing seasons and missed the playoffs only 4 times. During the Pop/Duncan era, they have the best winning % of the 4 major sports leagues: NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB. They are the only former ABA team to have won a championship....and if not for a collapse in the late 70s, they could be one of, if not the only team, with a championship in both conferences. They were in the Eastern Conference in the late 70s. The Spurs are 4-0 in the Finals. They currently possess the best record in the NBA.

Not too shabby for a team from a backwards podunk city with a dirty river......

Spurs >>>>>>>>>>>> Mavs

GO SPURS GO

I rooted for them against the Heat.....they choked like a Philadelphia Eagle wearing a #5 jersey.....

I can't stand their owner, they drama queen flopper of a superstar, that dirty little turtlehead #31, or anyone else.

Mavs fans = Eagle fans minus the lynch mob violence

laugh all you want, but it is the truth. it was so frustrating to sit and watch Hill get outcoached so easily. I guess it didn't help that Rodman was off in his own little world that series...all he cared about was rebounding and being a distraction. I was a huge Rodman fan when he was a Piston, so when he came to the Spurs, I was so stoked....but unfortunately his negatives outweighed his positives, while a Spur. IMO, if the Spurs get the same Rodman that was with the Pistons in 1990/91, they win the Championship that year....and I am speaking from a mentality standpoint.

But yes, like I said before, game in and game out, Hakeem and David were even.....pts, rbs, blks, stls, ast....the fact is, when they play one on one, they simply cancel one another out. Then came that playoff series....Hakeem was mad that David got the MVP, and slighted him in the speech....so Hakeem played with a chip on his shoulder....add to that the superior game plan by Rudy T and thus the outcome we know now.
