laugh all you want, but it is the truth. it was so frustrating to sit and watch Hill get outcoached so easily.
I will, Hakeem didn't almost always get double and triple team help against anyone ever. what a joke

i dont remember the series very well, i was 10 and just remember how frustrated i was with them losing and my dad cursing at hakeem a lot, lol. But i can guarantee you that if we had Pop coaching that team, or a half decent coach instead of hill that series would have played out differently

Let me throw this out there to the Spurs Fans of CZ... If the Mavericks were in the finals, would you root them because they represent the state of Texas or would your affiliation to the Spurs cause you to support the other team?

i would root for the mavs vs the heat or celtics, anyone else i would cheer for the east. i would also cheer for the mavs over the lakers, but thats about it.

It's pretty nice to say you have won 4 championships when you were practically handed them in the finals. Nets, Cavaliers, Pistons, and Knicks, not something I'd be bragging on. The Spurs, historically, are the better franchise, but regarding this season, at full health for both teams, the Mavs are slightly better. If the Spurs lose ginobili or parker to an injury, may luck be with you.

ya, because the pacers, sixers and same nets were SOOO much better, yet you dont see anyone complaining about that with the Lakers. the fact of the matter is that post jordan the East was terrible, but the spurs still had to beat teams like the lakers, jail blazers(they use to be really good) mavs, sonics (also a very good team) and of course the suns.

plus like it was stated before, the pistons were a very good team, they were better the year we played them than the year they beat the lakers and had one of the greatest coaches of all time at the helm. they were also one of the best defensive teams ever

Worst. Analogy. Ever.

ya i wouldnt go that far, but i would say the franchises mirror each other, but not the fans.

overall i would probably like the mavs a little more if jason terry wasnt there, not only does he talk a lot of crap he cant back up, he disappears in the big moments and he is dirty (punched Michael Finley in the family jewels)

Yeah that was bad. I'd say 99% of the time the guy is not a "dirty player" though.

The irony is that any Spurs fan fan would ever call another player dirty when they had the king of dirty on their team for so many years in Bruce Bowen.

I've always had a healthy respect for the Spurs....

San Antonio only has one major sports team, so it leads to a very rabid and loyal fan base...which is easy when the team is also so good. I just wish the fans there would at least ocassionally admit that the Mavs are good too.

The only thing I see similar is that neither franchise has a title (assuming we're not counting the Eagles NFL championship).

Is there something else I'm missing?

If not, and that's the only qualifier, then there are a boatload of professional sports franchises that = the Eagles. It's hardly a revelation of any sort.

I'm a Mavs fan and I have no hate for the Spurs. But they beat the defending world champion Detroit Pistons in 2005 and the two time defending Eastern champion Nets in 2003. Granted the East was the JV league from 2000-2005.

go back and watch the series jimmy. watch every single game. Hill left Robinson on Hakeem, cause of the perimeter shooters that Houston had, and boy did they have a bunch of them. Rudy T, knew the role players were not as much of a threat for the Spurs, especially with Rodman on the floor, so he focused his defensive schemes at slowing down and limiting the effectiveness of Robinson. argue all you want, but the truth is in the video. just watch it.

Bowen might have been overly physical and borderline dirty....but he didn't take cheap shots like Terry has on numerous occasions.

i was referring to the successful regular season teams that go on to choke in the playoffs, including an epic collapse in a championship (mavs meltdown in finals, including dirk sissy pushing a bike = the eagles crappy 2 minute offense, mcnabb puking all over the place). Not many teams have that mate, not even the suns, they had great effort in their two finals appearances, they were just up against great teams

bruce might have been dirty, but he didnt go on to the media talking stupid crap that he has never and probably wont ever be able to back up. bruce also didnt run around like an idiot with his arms out after he makes a three. just wait till the playoffs, in the second round, in crunch time, terry will disappear like Houdini.

Mavs picked up Corey Brewer. The rich get richer.

Now Dallas not only has the best set of big men in the league we easily have the best overall depth in the league.

This is our year.

This is humor at its best. Thanks.

Corey Brewer is better than who ?

And best bench ? LA and Boston both have better benches. Maybe SA too.

You're nuts.

Jet, Brewer, Peja, Haywood, Barea, Mahimi, Marion, D. Stevenson.

Our bench is the best in the league and it's not close.

Won't be any excuses. This team plays good defense because of all of our big guys we can roll in.

Only thing that will stop us is if a big man goes down.

I didn't see anyone defending Terry, so calm down. He's a bench player now anyway. No need to rant.
I was just stating the obvious about Bowen...nothing more, nothing less.

Dallas has won 2 of the last 3 playoff series vs the Spurs. But they have no major hardware to show for it, so they really can't talk much.

Nevertheless, I hope after this year it's the last 3 out of 4 for the Mavs!

Best set of bigman are you kidding me? :lmao2: Oh man Mavs fans are funny. First of there is no way that is true. Odom, Gasol, Bynum >>>>>> Dirk, Chandler, Haywood and second no way yall are deeper than Boston, L.A., or even the Spurs. The Mavs are playoff chokers and will get killed by the Lakers in the playoffs. Well that is if they dont choke in the 1st round again.

Jet is a chucker, Marion is an average player without Nash, and the rest are mediocre. Lamar Odom alone makes L.A. better than you add in guys lke Brown, Barnes, and Blake and the Lakers definitely have a better bench. Boston as well.

I disagree, but it's useless to argue to the point.
