Yup. It’s not much different than comparing Parsons to Bosa.

Bosa doesn’t really have the skins that Ware does (though Ware never captured DPOY), but if he keeps it up it’ll be a really similar career.

Bosa won DPOY last year because of the success at the end of the year, despite having a relatively slow start.
But isn't that what you want from a player that finishes stronger and that's in the bigger games making an impact that's why you gotta put miles Garrett both bosa brothers and TJ Watt right there next and Parsons he is not alone at the top it's all debatable... Micah Parsons is gonna have to have a much longer career to be considered the best defensive player since Lawrence Taylor or better than DeMarcus Ware or some of the other great defensive players that we have in the Hall of Fame right now....

That's about what I was going to say.

Right now, the edge goes to Ware. It's absolutely freaky how so many don't know/remember how good Ware was. Parsons needs to play a bit longer before he passes him.
Well I don't really go by how long they played. For instance, Justin Jefferson is a better WR than Jake Reed ever was for the Vikings despite Reed having played longer and accumulated more stats.

I'm judging strictly on who is better. People forget how special Ware was.

I remember how special he was...I just think Micah is a bit better, with more natural ability and more versatility.

I expect Parsons to be better than Ware. But he still has things to accomplish like a 20 sack season.

100%

What we have right now is a Bo Jackson type situation.

Watching Parsons, I can’t say I’ve seen anything like him. He is lightning.

And when he turns it on, his abilities surpass DeMarcus Ware IMO.

But it doesn’t mean anything if longevity isn’t a reality.

I have my concerns but enjoying the show for now.

But we have seen a guy like that his name was Lawrence Taylor and there's been a few others I know it's hard to remember them all but Lawrence Taylor probably one of the best defensive players of all time in NFL history he's the elite of the elite when it comes to being a linebacker who destroyed running backs and quarterbacks... That's MPs like goal his ceiling he's not there right now he has to do it for a very long time and by the way Lawrence Taylor he did it in the playoffs and in the Super bowl.....

People disdainful of Ware will claim Parsons is better even if they never watched him play.

IT will be interesting to see if Parsons can keep it up year after year as Ware did; and of course after his first 5 years Ware was on a steadily deteriorating D and had very little help.
I hope Parsons does not have to go to another team to get a ring like Ware did.
Ware like Parsons benefited from having excellent coaching his first few years; then the last part of his career until he left the Boys the defensive coaches were not all that. I hope Parsons will be more fortunate.
Most of the Cowboys defenses weren’t very good when Ware was here. As you mentioned he didn’t have the help. It made it a lot tougher on Ware.

Micah is a complete disrupter of an offense, pass or run. Ware was a great pass rusher. Obviously Ware is a HOFer but who I rather have? Parsons.

Micah impacts games, Ware…not so much.
You must not have been around when Ware played because he did impact games. You don’t come away with 20.0, 19.5 and 15.0 sack seasons, and not impact games. Ware had a strip sack of Drew Brees in 2009 in the closing seconds when New Orleans was on a desperation drive and that ended their undefeated season at 13-0.

All you had to do was look at my date joined here to see I was around when Ware played(I suspect that you already knew that but wanted to get a shot in). I said ‘not so much’ because he did impact some games but he was not the game wrecker that Parsons currently is. Parsons is faster and more agile than Ware ever was. Ware did have a great career and it will take longevity from Micah to surpass him but Parsons is a more dominating player that changes how the opposing offense game plans.

Ware was great but Micah is generational, he just has to keep it going for a decade and not burn out. This is all I will say, don’t feel like arguing with you all day again :muttley:

After his first two seasons, Parsons is the most dominating defensive player the Cowboys have ever had. Not even Randy White was as disruptive on the field or received as much media attention as Parsons. He’s the closest thing the NFL has seen to Lawrence Taylor. The one knock on Parsons has been he wears down the second half of the season and hasn’t been very impactful in the playoffs. His sacks and playmaking have declined the last few games each of the last two seasons. He only has one sack in three playoff games. Had he been able to maintain his level of play throughout the entire season his first and second year, he probably would have won DPOY both years. Hopefully he’s able to sustain his level of play throughout the entire season this year. For him to become a truly transcendent player, he probably is going to need to be part of a championship. Although Dick Butkus received legendary status without even playing in a playoff game.

I don't know, its hard to compare generations. People like prime Manning who were experts at reading defenses made it harder to do your job.

I was speaking from personal experience. I never saw LT play, but I have heard all of the accolades and watched all the highlights— deservedly has the title of best defensive player of all time.

But I am 36 and I’ve seen a lot of great pass rushers in my time.

I’ve not seen a guy like this before. He’s the size of an LB, with elite DB speed and DE power.
