Ware was awesome but he was a nice guy. Parson is a mean nasty pass rusher who teams absolutely fear.

I was speaking from personal experience. I never saw LT play, but I have heard all of the accolades and watched all the highlights— deservedly has the title of best defensive player of all time.

But I am 36 and I’ve seen a lot of great pass rushers in my time.

I’ve not seen a guy like this before. He’s the size of an LB, with elite DB speed and DE power.
You're entitled to your opinion but I think we need to keep this as a can't for other outside linebackers or defensive ends because when you're talking about best defenders of all time dude Aaron tunnel is just as impressive from his inside line play I mean that dude is ridiculously fast and built and plays a tougher position because he's inside all the time and there are other dudes like that we've seen and all other positions around the defense like guys here are special at corner and safety and all that other stuff they've had that same crazy blend of skill an effort so I mean Michael Parsons is not the best defensive player of all time but when you're comparing to the other defensive ends and outside linebackers then we have a debate.... I mean just for one example Dion Sanders played three positions offense defense and special teams I mean he was pretty impressive..

Prime Aaron Donald and Prime JJ Watt were probably the most disruptive defensive players I’ve witnessed. Ray Lewis might be in that boat too.

When I say I’ve never seen anything like Parsons, I’m comparing his physical abilities with the archetypal edge rusher.

I’m not saying he’s the best defensive player I’ve ever seen. Long way to go.

It’s Parsons. Wares been my favorite player all time since he’s who I grew up watching but Parsons about to push Ware to 2nd favorite soon. He’s just a freak of nature. Still B-Ware of D-Ware
Why?

I'm just saying that he has to produce something to be in the conversation on who's better. I think he is a generational player but I rather see him prove himself on the field.
Ware isnt even in the same league as parsons.

ware rang up sacks but he didnt dominate or win games. Parsons wrecks games.

Ware was good in a 3-4, but not in a 4-3. Micah can almost play any position/scheme on the field and become a game wrecker at it. All respect to Ware who was a stud.

Parsons. And saying he is better takes nothing away from Ware, Martin, Jones, Haley, White or Jeffcoat.
DeMarcus Ware wasn't as good as Harvey Martin. Those who never saw Harvey Martin play don't understand. Before they kept track of sacks, Martin had 23 sacks in a season - a 14 game season. Ware was very good. Martin was better, and should be in the Hall of Fame. Parsons has a chance to be better than both.

Micah. He's been more consistent with the Cowboys than Ware ever was in Dallas.
.
IMO, Ware was more impactful after he left Dallas.

How can so many Cowboys fans be so clueless about Ware? It's truly disgusting. QUIT getting your sports info from BSPN. And yes, they are the first ones who spewed the trash about Ware.

This really isn't true. Ware was almost better as a 4-3 DE. I recall a game (loss) @ home vs Detroit the year Romo fumbled the playoff FG snap away where he had to play DE and recorded @ least 3 sacks and multiple QB hits on Kitna.

He might have been better in a 4-3 honestly if asked to be.

I don't think Ware was better than Martin at all.

Martin actually affected the game in a more noticeable manner than Ware did most times.

But, yes, you're right, Parsons has the opportunity to eclipse them.

Parsons actually has better football instincts. Ware was a DE that had to learn the OLB position in a 3-4 defense. Ware also struggled against the run, initially. He was susceptible to misdirection. Parsons is a better leader and much, much, more aggresive.
He was susceptible to the misdirection? Like everyone, he was confused by the RPO options RGIII was running. He got beat a few times -- literally like everyone in the league. But then the nonsense on this board started.

Ware is in the HoF. He "struggled" against the run initially because he chose to return to school after the season and complete his degree rather than juice up and add 20+ lbs before the draft. But where did not juicing get him ... This reminds me of all the junk said about Ware vs. Merriman back when they were drafted. People on here were all "we really screwed this one up" and obsessively detailed Merriman's exploits. When it was all said and done, Shawn 45.5 career sacks. Ware 138.5. And Ware was always better against the run. More tackles every damn year.

I loved Ware. One of my favorite all time cowboys but it’s not even close. Ware rushed the passer. Parsons destroys offensive game plans. In my 48 years of watching football there’s only been a couple defensive players that could win a game for you. Lawrence Taylor, Deion Sanders and Micah Parsons.

"Soft??!"

D-Ware 2006, 14 sacks 45 hurries, 73 tackles, 5 forced fumbles
D-Ware 2007, 16 sacks 45 hurries, 84 tackles, 4 forced fumbles
D-Ware 2008, 20 sacks , 21 hurries 84 tackles, 7 forced fumbles
D-Ware 2009, 12 sacks , 56 hurries 57 tackles, 5 forced fumbles

Later...19.5 sacks in 2011. How many pass rushers in NFL history have two seasons with 19+ sacks?

12 seasons. 10 Pro-Bowls, Hall-of-Famer. 35 forced fumbles in his career. Didn't miss a single game his first 8 seasons!

I'm referencing PFF stats, which counts half sacks as full. But all major sources agree: 20 sacks in 2008. That in 16 games.

In his first 8 seasons Ware averaged 13.9 sacks per season. Micah averaged 13.25 his first two seasons.

Ware also forced more fumbles, though Micah is stout at that himself and could catch up with Ware's pace.
