Ryan Leaf and there's no comparison. He was a scum bag then and still hasn't changed to this day.
I wasn't alive for the Jackie Smith drop, but everytime I see it along with Lundquist's call. It makes me cringe.
Just because you weren't alive for a certain era, doesn't mean you can't go back and do some research.
I guess your gonna give Randy White a pass for his fumble on the kickoff which he should have just fallen on it...White's left wrist was in a cast and for some unknown reason, he had the ball in his left hand on the return...Randy's fumble was recovered by Tony Dungy...
Jackie did catch a TD pass from Danny White in the Divisional playoff game against Atlanta that year...
Or not all of us are old enough. It's kind of hard to dislike a player you never saw play...That's because there's a crap ton of posters that have no idea about their team and its history. Sad, but true.
Who was it that fumbled the game away? Oh that's right............Yep, he ran his mouth off in the 1984 season about wanting Hogeboom to be the QB...Should not have been talking considering it was his butt that Clark burnt in the 1982 NFC Title game...I know it isn't fair to blame Walls but people have no trouble blaming Danny...

It's just me, but I saw Super Bowl XIII live on television. The drop replays within my mind's eye anytime I'm reminded of it (for which I say thanks to those who did so on this thread/thanks a lot). Still doesn't affect my choice though. Different strokes for different folks.
Terrell Owens (post #47).SB XIII was 34 years ago most of the players being mentioned played for the Cowboys within the past 10 years. By the way who was your choice as least favorite Cowboy?
I have a few that I seriously loathed, but for some reason Igor Olshansky is the name that is coming up. The way that moron would get up and celebrate doing something when we were down by 21 really got me worked up.
Honorable mention to Drew Henson. Really hated the way he came back after washing out of baseball and was anointed by everyone and their mother as the same player that was at Michigan in 98. He was so bad in NFLE.
EDIT:
This is just a juxtaposition to the "favorite" thread. All of our favorites are probably legends, but I imagine the hate spans a far greater range.[/quote

DANNY WHITE DID NOT FUMBLE! That's required knowledge for every Cowboy fan. The Cowboys got screwed in that game. White's so-called fumble was an incomplete forward pass. It drives me nuts how every year they show "the catch" as if that was the play that won the game. It wasn't. The game was won on a ref screwup. With today's replay rules, the so-called fumble would have been overturned. The Cowboys had just completed a long pass to Drew Pearson and were getting close to field goal range and had one of the best kickers in the league in Rafael Septien. Earlier the refs also missed a blatant pass interference call on Doug Cosbie in the end zone that would have given us a new set of downs as a first and goal. It likely would have been a TD instead of a field goal, giving us 4 more points. That stupid "catch" (or the "luckout" as I call it) would not have been enough to win the game. The FartyNiners would have had to have pulled off an onside kick, which would have been very unlikely.Had you been alive and were a fan of the team you would have doubled over had you witnessed the play as it happened. I've seen a lot of Don Meredith's bad plays on film but I wasn't following the Cowboys when he played so I have no ill feelings towards him. I didn't experience the pain of some of those early Cowboy losses because I hadn't yet become a fan. Doing research and going back to an era you weren't around for isn't the same as living the moments. When I see highlights of the Ice bowl and the loss in SB V it doesn't make me cringe like it does the fans who were following the team back then and had to endure the pain.
Those highlights bring back the feelings they had at the time but it's not going to affect those in the same way who weren't yet born or weren't following the team back then. Everytime I see The Catch and Danny Whites fumble in the 81 NFC title game it brings back the feelings I had at the time watching the game live. It's not the same (at least not for me) going back and reviewing games and plays from an era I wasn't around to see. I'm only affected by the games and plays I watched as they happened. Highlights of plays and games from decades ago only leave wounds if you lived the moments.
