Pollard can at least do better than zeke. And he will break a few big runs and can bounce it outside so less predictable.

I didn't say Zeke. I was mentioning Luepke because he's a FB. I think Pollard will be good on those, but Vaughn intrigues me.

I’m all for a trade for an OG and/or BIG RB. We’re close but any ability at all to be able to convert 4th and 1-5, would be great. I’m a big fan of the Cowboys ability to draft but I’d be lying if I didn’t say this is very 2009 to me.

I’m at a 8 with my panic for the run game. After training camp I’m all for a 1-3 round trade for a OG and/bulldozer RB.
Direct snap to Duece...Tyler at FB...Tyler tosses Duece about 10 yards downfield.

Or Ronald Jones just runs the ball like normal...

Dallas needs power. Zeke ain't it.
The one thing he still had was power. Don’t know where you’ve been, but he was being used to pick up the tough yards and push the pile he did well at that.

Any run game can be stopped esp by a good defense.
Panic is in the air as when you can't run you have to pass.
Yes, Panic and Panic big time!!!!

Go look at his stats. He had just under 900 yards rushing last season in 15 games with 12 TDs. A lot of those yards and TDs came between the tackles despite OL issues. He may have only been able to push the pile for a yard or two but it was enough to move the chains or punch it into the endzone. His rushing stats don’t tell the whole story.

He had some good games before his injuries resurfaced last year.I will give him that. But I am not seeing this power some guys talk about here. I guess we have different definitions of power.

If you go back and look at last season, it was like running into a brick wall for all our backs in some games. There were times when we needed a yard and it looked like Zeke wasn’t going to get it but somehow he found a way to fight his way and move the chains. Fans can say what they want, but we don’t have a back on the roster that gives us what he gave us in short yardage and near the endzone. We’ve seen in games how difficult it can be just to punch the ball into the endzone from 2 to 3 yards out. If we don’t have the ability to move the chains in short yardage situations and when McCarthy wants to take a gamble on 4th and one we’re going to run into problems. You’re not going to win a lot of games relying on your kicker all day and our kicking situation is up in the air as we speak.

Thats the only thing that bothers me. Injuries resurfacing. He got tackled like Dak and Pollard did on their injuries. I was surprised it didn’t break his leg. He is tough for sure but when injured you can for sure tell. And he needs 9 runs to get warmed up and start to ware down defenses. Don’t think he can be that guy anymore. Pollard should be healthy by first regular season game. If he is to be the guy that don’t leave a lot of reps for 3 other RBs and a FB..

I remember a few games Pollard was stuffed behind the line and Elliot was finding narrow lanes and getting 3 or 4. May have been egirls game. We just have to trim it down in camps. We have about 5 RBs now without Elliot. Who knows he may find another team but I know JJ gave him a standing offer that’s why he said it’s not over yet. And they never gave a official offer to Elliot,

A one dimensional "power" RB is probably the easiest thing to find on short notice. There's no need to worry about this in May. You can find a guy in August or as late a during the regular season if needed.

they make anxiety drugs , seems odd a fan would panic over such things, one we have great starting best 5 OL already and some depth already here...

secondly RBBC and smaller backs on other teams or the qb sneak etc seems to work for large part of the NFL teams. who was the biggest back on KC team? hey ran over that eagles D with a RBBC..who was the biggest back on the eagles team? sanders seem to take most of the snaps..they didn't seem worried about short yardage specialty backs.

It doesn't matter who. You run to a numbers advantage or you throw the football.

That said, Zeke is still probably the best short-yardage back in the league. There's no other back who finds hidden yards like he does around the LOS.

I think they should create this giant wedge of players around Dak, let him run a QB sneak and just push him forward.

I'm not seeing all of these tough yards. I saw Zeke falling to the first ankle tackle at the line of scrimmage time and again. Zeke does still have his agility. But no power.
