Who should we root for Sunday GreenBay or Philly?

Doesn't matter, we are going to have to play both teams if things go well. GB is going to the playoffs and will do well.

If the playoffs started today...the Packers would be out. Seattle @ 6-3 holds the tie breaker over 6-3 Green Bay.

Shouldn't matter who wins. We win, we're in. Gotta take the reins and control your own destiny. I despise both of those teams, so I wouldn't mind seeing them beat the crap out of each other.

No, Philly needs to go down, and go down hard.
We need them to lose, then we beat them, get up a game on them. Win Division, and if we don't get a bye, we at least can get a home playoff game.

Rooting for Philly to beat GB is like conceding the division to them and settling for a WC spot.. Even though we have 2 games against them yet.

Rooting boosts personal morale. Unless a bunch of yelling fans collectively disrupts a team's on-field concentration, rooting never affects the outcome of games. Make your arteries explode stressing a team to victory. lol. Good luck with that.

The thirty-one other teams de damned. I root only for the Cowboys in all scenarios every year. If I ever die of an aneurysm, it will not happen because I was rooting for a team based outside Arlington, Texas. I would post a concise opinion about rooting for the Packers or Eagles, but this is a family forum after all.

I don't understand how we would ever want Philly (or anyone in our division) to win if the division winner goes to the playoffs .... with all things being equal??? What am I missing ... even after reading your post 3 times?

I'm basically looking at more than just one option of getting in the playoffs. I know the easiest way to get in is just win the division but there is a good chance we don't win the division. Worst case scenario is if Green Bay beats philly to get them to three losses and then we lose to Philly and Philly goes on to win the division and we're just sitting out of the Wildcard because Greenbay and San Fran or Seattle jumps us in the standings.

The Cowboys already have three losses in the Conference and the only trump card we have is the tiebreaker over Seattle. That's why I was pissed when San Fran beat New Orleans because they have the tiebreaker on us and are only one game back in the loss column. Green Bay's schedule is a lot easier than ours going down the stretch.

Hopefully those NfC West teams beat up on each other and they only get the division winner in the playoffs.

Who would you rather face less in the playoffs? GB or Philly? Route for that team to lose.

In a strange way it may be better if Philly beats Greenbay to get them to 4 losses. I just would feel better about our chances of making the playoffs if we have a cushion over the Packers because I don't think San Fran or Seattle will be able to catch or jump Dallas in the standings because all of those teams in the NFC west still have to play each other.

The tiebreaker over Seattle is a huge advantage for us. Big games this weekend with Detroit playing Arizona and Philly vs Greenbay.

Best if we take the division so root for GB.

this is easy.
always root against philly.

in this case it is also logical.
division winner gets higher seed than any wild card so that is preferred method to get in.

Have to root for GB, imo.

Does not matter. In the NFL, there is only one eventual winner in the playoffs and eleven losers. It does not matter who the opponent is if a particular team is destined to run the table. Dallas will beat or lose to Green Bay. Same goes for Philadelphia. What will be will be. Go Cowboys.

The OP has a point, which team is most likely to end the Cowboys season and when? If I were confident in the Cowboys making the playoffs then I'd rather Green Bay lost because they're a better team than Philthy and it would be best if Green Bay missed the tournament altogether. If I'm not confident about Dallas making the playoffs then Philthy must lose to make up for some of the Cowboys losses down the stretch.

I'm rooting for Green Bay,,,
