Over 50+ million in restructures for Dak and Lamb and that doesn’t consider other moves that could likely free up another 10/20 million.
No doubt they can create space but cannot continue handing huge contracts out

But they can…if you want to actually go all in with your franchise QB you can do it. With restructures / cuts etc they can sign a bunch of dudes this upcoming offseason and still extend 11.

Yea, you might be kicking the can down the road and creating a bad future state but that’s going all in.

You do that when you are close, which this team is not. Certainly can take some chances, but cannot go fully all in yet

That has nothing to do with it…it’s an accounting road bump. Make a few minor moves and we’ve got a ton of money in FA to spend.

Our FO is cheap in FA, so they probably won’t, but it’d be easy to free up a lot of money to make the moves we’re talking about.
Stephen has convinced his dad and many blind fans that they are stuck but yet somehow 31 other teams figure it out

Also, remind me who it was who gave that QB a $60 million dollars? Why do fans act like the Jones are victims in all this?

Maybe, maybe not. When you pay the QB big money you’re basically saying you’re somewhat all in.

This season has been a disaster - but IMO with a healthy 4 and a couple of good FA moves a nice draft we’re a really good team.

Totally fair if you disagree based off what we’ve seen this year.

I totally get the frustration in Daks contract by some fans…IMO we had to pay him but we should’ve done it a long time ago and it’s probably 10+ million dollars cheaper year.

Once again the Jones completely whiffed on a contract. Not on the player, but the timing.

Clearly the Defensive Line needs to be retooled if not rebuilt. This defensive line has struggled stopping the run for several years, especially against the top teams in this league. Won't matter if we are the best pass rushing team, best in coverage, but we are consistently in 3rd and short. Defense 101: make an offense one dimensional by stopping their run game!

Which holdover players should be apart of the future, which should not?

Defensive Ends

Parsons-elite pass rusher
DLaw-big decision this offseason
Sam Williams-1 more year to prove his worth
Kneeland-high draft pick
Golston-has played well this season, especially against the run.
Lawson-time to find a younger replacement
Wheat-needs to earn a roster spot

Defensive Tackles

Osa-unrestricted free agent. Always seems to flash early and then disappears as the season progresses. Undersized could be a liability against the run.
Mazi-high draft pick. Signs he is improving, but remains a disappointment
Joseph-A younger free agent
Watkins-see Joseph
All we need is a catalytic NT NOW! It aint Mazi yet either. That NT will set it all off for the others just like a good #2 WR would do for Dak along with a strong RG and HB. Think about it.

We need an impact DT, no matter which technique he plays.

Mazi is getting there but I’d love to see us sign a proven glass eater DT who is a black hole against the run.

Osa has gotten better every year and is having a pro bowl caliber year…I’d bring him back AND draft a DT early as possible.

All of a sudden I would LOVE our DT room.

I need to see more consistency from both players before I am a believer. In either case, I am still want a 1st rd DT.

We got to cross our fingers on Mazi and hope the progression continues. But I think you’d be hard pressed to find me a better 3T we can sign in FA than Osa…he’s playing really well.

If we’re picking around 15 DT has a good chance to be BPA. Not sure if Graham falls but Harmon and Grant could be in play…I’d be very happy with Harmon if we’re picking in that range.

I could turnaround my opinion on Osa, got to see how he finishes the season. Want a 10 sack type of 3T like we saw with Hatcher.

Wrote a post on fan zone about the possibility of Zimmer becoming the new HC next season, it isn't far fetched especially if the defense finishes strong.

I am fine with Harmon, Grant, Williams as fall back options, they are all good, not sure what to think about Nolan though.

Osa will be close to 10’sacks this year but that stat isn’t the end all be all…he’s been a pressure machine this year and been good against the run.

Agree on Nolan - I feel like he’s a traits pick.

OSA has 3 sacks, he is not going to get to double digits, his career high is 4. Agree about his pressures and the importance of the stat, but he has to finish better

Osa is in no way a pro bowler. For what he will probably want, let him go

For this coming year, we need to upgrade the DL as our primary goal on D.
Two DTs; we must have a real animal at NT. We can give Mazi another year to show he is worth keeping but we still must get two new ones. One high draft pick and maybe a good solid FA - a better Hankins
We also need another fairly high rd LB as Liafu does not impress and Kendricks is getting old; Overshown needs help
Kneeland and Williams and Golston if he is not too expensive
and at least one better Safety. I think we are good at CB
So on D we need 2DTs and at least 1 LB and maybe another decent FA LB and a Safety.
So that is five players; five upgrades.

I agree the DL needs to be the focus, but cannot avoid the offense entirely. The offense was just as bad as the defense this year. Have to upgrade the talent at both the RB/WR positions. They must figure out how to score more points in the red zone to help out the defense. DT, WR, RB are my priority needs!

respectfully disagree. anything planned or spent to be a contender with #4 is wasted. all plans & spending should be about setting up life after #4.
